This post comes with the significant disclaimer that I've never heard of this girl until this popped up on my X feed. In any event, her mom says the on-court result doesn't matter b/c Flaujae is beating USC in real life. I'm not sure what that means, but she said it numerous times in the 1/2 of the video I watched.

I don’t follow women’s basketball and I’m in the camp that I wish we didn’t put so much into women’s basketball, a position I know not everyone agrees with. We can agree to disagree.

But I’ll chime in on this one. If you’re recording a message like this, days after a game your daughter played in and making the remarks she’s making…it’s because you know you lost. The winners don’t make videos like this going after the other team. They may celebrate winning, sure. What a pathetic embarrassment she should be to her own daughter, but I am getting the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in this one.

Can you say thug. She is trash. Her daughter set her up for life, not the other way around.

It's funny how she says her daughter is set for life b/c she's lock for the WNBA. Then she says her daughter doesn't even need to go to the WNBA.

Tessa is crazy good and plays with class and respect for the game and is in a system that emphasizes team over individual. She is an assassin and with Johson hitting a few makes the Bigs a little more open. Great team ball. I do wish we had defended FLAJ better and swatted a few scoop shots away. Let Mamma and team keep this mentality; it won't serve them well. Get that bag mamma and buy some crawfishes.

Sounds like someone has self esteem issues.

And? What was the point of all that? Sounds like all she heard was how she missed 2 crucial free throws to take the lead when they had momentum. Then we proceeded to close the game out. Guess she has to compensate knowing she has never beaten our team in her career?

What is with these LSU Thug girls! Sounds like jealousy to me, because she plays for some psycho coach and as far as the WNBA goes, it won't even be around when she leaves. Nobody cares.

Actually, she doesn't. Flau'jae has done really well in the Advertising and NIL space. Of course, she will end up playing because who doesn't need more income, but she has done well. Thus, the comments by her mom. However, those comments come from a place of hurt (losing to USC again and your daughter missing two free throws that everyone watching the game will remember).

I don't know. But she contradicted herself.

In one breath, her daughter is set for life BECAUSE she's gonna get drafted high to the WNBA.

In the next breath, her daughter is set for life and doesn't need to go the WNBA.

Flaujae is an excellent basketball player. Everything else said in that clip is nonsense.
On most occasions, parents are better served by staying off of social media when their child is an athlete. Usually, they end up getting emotional and embarrassing their child. I wonder how LSU plays tonight. Have a road game against Ole Miss. Flau'jae's mom basically threw the entire LSU team under the bus to highlight how good her daughter is. That can't be good for team chemistry. As for USC, we don't care. Talk all you want. You are still a loser.

Well, she is probably going to be a Top 5 draft pick and her WNBA salary will be like a little dividend check she receives on the side.

I think you're expecting too much from the individual making the video.

If I recall correctly, Flaujae is the one that pushed one of our girls in the SEC tournament two years ago and that started the brouhaha and led to many being kicked out of the game and Kardosa to miss the first game of the NCAA tourney ... that was my first introduction to her. Dawn was very intentional and had nurturing comments for her after the game. It is ashamed that her mother puts herself front and center and makes outrageous comments. I believe the comments above by Fried Chicken correctly addresses the matter at hand ... when you make comments like this, it is because you are compensating for what actually happened ... beating yourself in the chest and making proclamations when LSU lost and your daughter missed clutch time FT's and made a horrible decision on a long and ill advised 3P shot after the misses makes one look simply foolish ... I will will gladly take our current crop of guards (Raven, Tessa, and Maddie) over any that LSU has .... frankly, this post is embarrassing ... Go Lady Gamecocks!!!

This is the same as fans or players pointing to winning the statistics battle after a loss or blaming officials for a loss. Take the loss and move on.

There has been a lot of narrative lately about kids and social media, but this is clearly a case where a parent should stay of social media. Actually, the vast majority of folks would probably be better off staying off of it.

No, no, no,. . . No! Tell your friend we only pretend to participate in a quasi social media platform. We are simply chatting over a coffee in separate cubicles.

Besides, we are discreet. Kinda like discussing the condition of our little upstate cousins with the mechanic as he repairs the faulty brakes on our car . . . we know when to keep our opinions guarded.

Not to be contrary but the best player on the court doesn't miss two clutch free throws.
