I hope this Administration steps in and does the right thing!! Pope can’t coach!! It’s plain and simple!!! Change has to be made!!!
They aren’t going to improve. Let’s give him half a season to see how bad it can get. Is that what you meant?Disagree, sort of. Like someone else said, no exceptions he needs a third year to see if he has learned from this season, and evaluate mid-season. If things have not improved, fire him and assing someone interim and immediately look for a higher profile coach.
He doesn't even have a team for next year. Whoever we get it's gonna be a friggin jokeWe have to waste time giving him a 3rd year because it's what u do.
And I don’t trust him constructing a team. He has proved he can’t.He doesn't even have a team for next year. Whoever we get it's gonna be a friggin joke
What?!?! One year ago he had a sweet 16… with injuries!!! This year has been disappointing but there are reasons why it has been disappointing that has been outside of his control. Did I like the sub patterns tonight?? No, but all the bigs sucked. Did he play Jasper too much?? Yes, but jaspers family is up his butt threatening to leave next year when all of uk fans are saying to keep him. Aberdeens shoulder also got banged up.. you remember that? We also shot horribly at the line.. is that popes fault too?And I don’t trust him constructing a team. He has proved he can’t.
Did he put together a joke of a team last year with no players entering into April? Even if every single player left, he still was able to show that he can put together a sweet 16. Look.. I’m pissed about this loss too, but to just say they are going to be an embarrassment next year is not the best look on our fan base.
Blah blah blah shows he did better than cal did. You don’t think a healthy Jaxon and butler make a difference? There have been 3 coaching changes in my lifetime.. tubby-title, Billy g- crap, cal- elite 8 with a healthy roster and John wall, pope- sweet 16. Is that so bad and embarrassing for his first year?Gee golly a sweet 16. We best a 14 and 6 seed.
And I know better than last 4 seasons blah blah.
Ah the Mark Stoops defense. We saw how well that’s worked out.Think maybe Pope might conduct a huge staff shake up next season…gotta stay in tune with the jimmys and joes. Should probably pull some of his playing days teammates into the mix perhaps?
Didn’t we beat a final four team I. Duke, didn’t we beat Tennessee twice, didnt we beat Gonzaga in Seattle without butler, didn’t we beat the champs? Yeah.. that’s real embarrassing.Gee golly a sweet 16. We best a 14 and 6 seed.

If it were soccer he'd already be shitcannedWhen he was hired, Pope had my full support. Now, with the recruiting as it stands, how the season is going and this loss tonight. Personally, Pope has worn out his welcome.
Again, he cannot recruit. I don’t understand how some aren’t grasping this. He literally has struck on most of his first portal targets and he’s something like 0-27 for freshman NBA guys, which yes you get them too. Kentucky has always recruited those types back to the 40’s lol. Calipari did it stupidly, but you still get them.Disagree, sort of. Like someone else said, no exceptions he needs a third year to see if he has learned from this season, and evaluate mid-season. If things have not improved, fire him and assing someone interim and immediately look for a higher profile coach.
Agreed FIRE his big tallI hope this Administration steps in and does the right thing!! Pope can’t coach!! It’s plain and simple!!! Change has to be made!!!
Seriously, a third year? We lose Oweh and Aberedean and we have signed ZERO players. You think this year was bad just wait for the clown show next year.Disagree, sort of. Like someone else said, no exceptions he needs a third year to see if he has learned from this season, and evaluate mid-season. What's embarrassing is a 41 - 21 record and an entire recruiting industry that has turned their nose up at Kentucky. We might miss the tournament this year. Still a lot of games to be played. That's bullshizz.Blah blah blah shows he did better than cal did. You don’t think a healthy Jaxon and butler make a difference? The only way I agree with this is if he was able to recruit and he's not. That alone indicates to me that he's finished. You can't have a season like this season with no hope in the future waiting. That's precisely what's going on in Lexington.Disagree, sort of. Like someone else said, no exceptions he needs a third year to see if he has learned from this season, and evaluate mid-season. We had to go through this. Keeping Cal wasn’t an option he had to go. Kentucky can afford a couple seasons like this to piss off the sleeping beast. We will be back. what is a chip? This is what 22 million got us. Pope will need at least 80-100 million to win a chip.
6th 7th 8th and 9th men aren’t cheap.
Maybe next year we can have a couple more Kentucky mambas and a couple more injured stars with lottery potential. I’m fkn pumped up baby who’s with me?

“THIS IS KENTUCKY” we will be back better believe it.
I agree and UK is not the job where you are still learning.Nice guy but is still learning on the job. With no recruits on the horizon I wonder if he realizes that his days are numbered. I was so hoping that he would succeed here but, don’t see things improving in year three. I guess the end of the season will tell the tale. So sad…
Recruiting is in the shi**er, two seasons of blowout losses, key players totally quitting on the program two seasons in a row, runs his teams more like a therapy session than a CBB powerhouse, and has made the brand a complete laughingstock among recruits and agents…Disagree, sort of. Like someone else said, no exceptions he needs a third year to see if he has learned from this season, and evaluate mid-season. And he’s not. He is the same guy that walked into the door almost 2 years ago.I agree and UK is not the job where you are still learning.
They're just trolls.Recruiting is in the shi**er, two seasons of blowout losses, key players totally quitting on the program two seasons in a row, runs his teams more like a therapy session than a CBB powerhouse, and has made the brand a complete laughingstock among recruits and agents…
Did I mention recruiting, both HS and Portal, is in the shi**er? And some are asking for a 3rd year of Grace?
Are we having a laugh, Cats’ fans?![]()
This sums it up.And he’s not. He is the same guy that walked into the door almost 2 years ago.
He’s a veteran coach. He’s 53 years old.
He’s coached what, 8-10 seasons?
He’s played for some of the best coaches ever, Pitino, Bird, etc. He played at the highest level in college. He played in the NBA.
He is what he is. And what he has become over his career to bring him to this point is simply not good enough for the job he holds.
