Seemed like kind of a sh*t talker and his music was weird (included narration from him saying motivational phrases?). He is the best in the world but sometimes it goes the other way. Dude that won skated to the Dune score.

Any sport which involves judges is a prime candidate to become involved in some sort of controversy. Ignoring those sports and anything to do with doping, what other events would be at the top of your list to become embroiled in a bitter cheating scandal??

Gotta say, I never would have guessed curling.

What’s funny is that Canada is more of a socialist country now than Russia is. In all seriousness, the USA probably is the second best team in this tournament and is better than Canada in goal and defense, but Canada’s offense at another level right now. With that said, the USA came within an OT goal of beating them a year ago in the Four Nations Championship game and largely outplayed them in that OT, and did beat them in the preliminary game in Montreal.

After this Germany win, the USA most likely will play Sweden in their first elimination game, which won’t be easy as Sweden probably is the third best team.

Either USA or Sweden have teams that can beat Canada in a one-off. Like I said, the USA beat Canada last February and then lost to them in the Championship Game in OT, and the two teams basically are the same except the USA played without Quinn Hughes for the whole tournament and without Charlie McAvoy after the preliminary game against Canada. It might be a moot issue because the USA probably is going to have to play Sweden to get to the semi-finals, which probably will be a toss-up; Sweden actually beat USA a year ago in Game Three of the Tournament, although that game didn’t mean anything.

Look at it this way: Canada scored five goals against Czechia and Switzerland, so they probably shouldn’t score anymore than three goals against the USA if they play because the USA will be the best team that Canada will have played by several levels. I also think that either USA or Sweden can score several goals against Canada.

So about curling……

This is basically shuffleboard.

The US team should be made up of a bunch of retirees from The Villages in Florida Throwing the stone while sucking down some Coors Lights and Fritos and smoking cigars while complaining about the government.

Also, smoking the cigars while using an oxygen machine. I've actually seen people smoking cigarettes while using supplemental oxygen. It's funny and worrisome at the same time.

Couple observations after the first week. I am sick of seeing curling on TV as they seem to always put that on USA when there isn't much going on. Thoroughly enjoying them covering the sliding sports and ski jumping. Some if not most of the announcers are on a level of annoying with Chris Collinsworth. Stop getting down on these athletes when they don't live up to media expectations. How the feck does Jake Paul get a girl like Jutta Leerdam? Please stop showing Jake Paul when she skates. Please add more Stanley Tucci food bits from the area of the Olympics. Please do stories on first time Olympians and how they got there. As much as I enjoy Mikaela Shiffrin and Elena Myles Taylor and Erin Jackson, I would like to learn about those that haven't been to the Olympics before. Also, I feel the media puts too much hype on previous US Olympians. Then again maybe its me...

All fair
Jake did very well for himself. She'll grow up and realize she can do better lol
Some criticisms are fair...especially for athletes that talk about themselves as though they're the greatest than flop. Shiffrin doesn't fall into that category. The Quad God does.

Not a huge fan of Gu but she's definitely one or the most hates Olympic athletes...some of the stuff about her is over the top

There are several Americans playing for countries of their heritage. She’s just the best one.

I have no issue with an American participating for another country. China paid her well. She would have been a fool not to take it. She just isn't likeable IMO. Lots of people from lots of countries fall into that category for me but I'm also not likeable lol
