I’m good with players coming back to the RAC if they got a Rutgers degree, completed their courses here and went to grad school. Can’t blame them for that - Paul, Myles Johnson. What I wouldn’t stand for is transfers before graduation, ie Jacob Young, Eugene. Not welcome back

I’m pretty sure you need to take a long deep breath.

Rutgers says no to Rutgers NBAers who transfer. The athletic department erases them.

No Cam, no Charles Jones, no Dahntay Jones.

* Correction - initial post said Hamady was ignored.

Hamady is there (bottom left).

In addition to Spencer, Jones, and Jones, Luis Flores and Eugene Omoruyi are not represented in the display because they transferred.

According to the letter of the law, Lloyd should not be in the display. He played in the ABA, but never laced 'em up for a NBA team.

Where is Bob Greacen? He was at the game today. He's the player being disrespected big time in the display. How many players can say they were a teammate of Lew Alcindor?

I think Jacob Young is welcome. I believe he graduated RU and went to Oregon as a grad transfer with the Covid bonus year - and played for the same coach who got his brother to the league. He’s shown nothing but love for RU. Can’t blame him for doing his best to get to the NBA.

also, he left it all on the court every game. I still cringe at him going airborne against OSU and shocked he avoided major injury.

Interesting to see the colleges on that Bucks roster. Only one of them, Iowa State, is ranked this year. And Iowa State is likely the only one to qualify for the NCAA tournament.

Mulcahy joined a group of us who regularly meet after games to shoot the breeze. He was appreciative of our continued support. His brother, Dorsett, will play for Canisius.

Damon Santiago dropped by as well.
That's really cool, Mike. John Battle and Damon Santiago were the two guys I was most excited to see yesterday. It was also kind of funny to see Andrew Kolbasovsky (sp?) as an "old" man, lol. I had a poster of him and his teammates in my basement for 20 years so that is the face I remember.
Considering I've been a season tikcket holder since the mid 80s, it was surprising how many of the guys that were announced that I didn't remember. There must have been a good amount of low playing time guys among the group.

my favorite memory of Jacob Young was when he dunked over Ivan Drago of Purdue (I think his actual name was something like Harms)

Truly a gentleman, gamer, and someone you'd want in a foxhole with you
Salty about how we went out, but business is business, and all is forgiven

Re. not welcoming guys back (namely, Jacob Young), that's definitely one of the truly dumber takes I've seen on here
Guy was aces for us, played 2 years, and a huge part of why we ascended to where we did

Moreover, it's not like we're a powerhouse with a litany of guys to choose from who've been successful
Team has sucked donkey dick for the better part of 5 decades, sans the final 4 year, 3 years under Pike, 89-90 and the NIT run w/QD

Some of you on here act like we're freakin Duke - wake up, team has literally sucked nuts for most of our existence and been a laughingstock to our peers
If JY and PM want to come back, they should be welcomed with open arms, not criticized like they're a bunch of pariahs

That part is disappointing to hear. I still wear my Grateful 4 shirt proudly. The dude is obviously extremely proud of his Rutgers Degree.
Agreed. I had spoken to Paul on multiple occassions and many do not know how hard it was for him and others during the Covid years to even get the most out of RU. Many were distanced from friends, classes, etc. so it wasn't your typical college experience. He bleeds Rutgers but also likely realized he had to take advantage of getting paid as well

I think you could count him at 3 years if you factor in the year he sat as a transfer.

Agree is was very disappointing. I am glad that he came back. Hopefully time will heal, I have said all along, I do not blame him for leaving, but I just was not happy with the timing. I welcome him back and always thought he would be a great coach.

I am pretty sure he has been back, I seem to remember him there seated with someone else, maybe Myles.

I think so too. Can’t fault him for trying to follow his brothers path to the NBA. He was a bit of a unicorn with his speed, athleticism and explosiveness, so can understand hoping Altman could refine that in year six like he did his brother makes sense.

Paul made his choice — a choice alot of fans would’ve made. In the process however he sacrificed the undying love of the fans. Right or wrong when he left it never sat well with a majority of the fanbase. Pike says all the right things about him but I have always also thought that it hurt his relationship with Pike. If Paul had stayed I think he’d be on the bench and/or part of the program by now especially since he’s coaching (at Gil).

The extra Covid year and NIL overlapping was a strange time in college sports. Over time, most fans will realize it was also an extremely difficult period for young men to make important life decisions. As they age, many players will readily admit they made a decision they regret. It's all part of life and growing up.

Seems the real issue with Cam and Paul leaving was the RU was so far behind on the NIL era that it would almost have been foolish for them not to leave. Some interview involving Spencer seemed to indicate as such.

Players owe the school nothing. Neither to other students, coaches or
employees. Personal decisions are just that, including related to timing.
