Looks like someone got a detective badge out of a cereal box. But that made me laughI’m thinking Corby is VHS. I’m only going off two things.
1. I don’t hardly ever remember Corby posting much while VHS was on here but once the ban hammer came down Corby is posting about as frequently as VHS was.
2. Trying to validate himself by claiming all these coaches call him to ask adviceis like claiming you wrestled for a team you never did to try and validate yourself.

I guess I'm lucky enough to know things that are going on within the program. Not always, but a decent amount of the time. From time to time, I would share on the old board, but the way this forum has been, along with all the trolls here anymore, I will keep my comments to a minimum.

My friend, I just don't see a path to 3-6 next year barring some serious portal grabs. Currently our over/under AA count for this year is what, 4.5 or 5? 3 of those are leaving this year and I don't see possible AAs replacing them. We got our men at 25 and 97 joining the party, but it's hard to picture them as AAs their first year. If something impressive doesn't happen I can easily see us with 2 or 3 AAs next year and finishing closer to 10th than 6th. Am I missing some recruits they're hiding in that windowless facility?

Leo is an absolute stud and Gabe will AA next year imo. Throw in Ben,Ryder, and the little rock due and that is still a fairly salty team. I also think Harvey is going to be pretty good. I could see 4-5 All Americans next year. This isn't going to challenge the two big dogs, but nobody else will be out of reach imo. You could be right and they slide quite a bit further too. I expect they will land at least one good portal guy.

Going to the well too many times on portal guys really hurt the program..the risk/reward ratio doesn't math.
Good point on Gabe; I completely overlooked him. AS for Leo, I just haven't seen enough to have real confidence especially with the others coming in and the solid lot that is returning. As for BK, 285 is still returning a ton of talent and we don't know his plans. WRT Ryder I was huge on him with the way he came out this year, but now he's like the LR duo...very hit and miss, capable of taking down an AA and equally capable of losing to folks around 15-20. And my man, Harvey, I was also big on him until I saw him face off and lose to other freshman; granted he's a true freshman but still if he's losing to guys ranked 25th to 35th this year, it's hard for me to envision him making AA next year. And finally - and I love Tom Brands - I have zero confidence in our assistant coaches WRT teaching these guys any offense. I'm sure they have amazing stregths that keep them on the payroll, but I don't think offensive techniques are part of their strengths. I remember watching them both wrestle back in the day and offensive juggernauts they were not. I love me some SB and hopefully he, ADS, and Spencer can teach some offense to the fellas!

Sorry not following the Mikey loses to Blaze part of your question. I really think a collapse would need to occur for Iowa to drop this dual. If that happens, yeah I can see voices getting louder (if that were possible). To make a change for the sake of making a change is not sound decision making when a clear replacement isn't visible.
Iowa's best wrestler, a senior, losing to lesser ranked wrestler from Purdue (Joey Blaze, a JR up a weight) would surely feed into the regression talking point.

Lesser ranked?? By 1 slot; Blaze is a returning finalist at 157. There might be legitimate arguments to be made against the coaching staff, but Caliendo losing to Joey Blaze is not one of them.
I am so sick of us giving up a takedown on the first—so we are down 3-0 or 3-1, with opponent having 55 sec of riding time and then having our guys ride the guy for 1:20 of 2nd period. It serves no purpose and just wastes 1:20 of time we can try and get a takedown. I mean we have to get a takedown to be in match anyway, so why waste valuable time? Let them up and worry about riding time after you get the next takedown.
We are not wearing them out, we are not trying to turn, we are wasting time. Then there is a 40 second battle end of 2nd with leg grabbing and out of bounds and we don’t have enough time for takedown 2nd period.
Then it takes awhile to get escape in 3rd, so have 1:20 left. Then half shots, leg grabbing, out of bounds and pretty soon run out of time because with 30 sec left, guy can really start to stall. So we lose 4-1 or 4-2 or 4-3 if he gives up a stalling point. And that 1:20 we rode the guy 2nd period meant nothing!

What?!? What did he exactly say? Doing that and lying about being a wrestler on the Iowa team shows complete mental instability . Should get permanently ban.
At the beginning of the year Caliendo was a sure fire finalist, closing the gap on Mesenbrink, and in a tier alone. Now he's lost to Lockett and Blaze in addition to getting majored by Mesenbrink. It looks like Iowa's streak of finalists very well could end this year. Maybe if that happens, "YES" will break 63%.
You underestimate the delusion some hold.
I hate the “streak of finalists” anyway. Sounds so lame. Because we can’t say champs. 2 different wrestlers as champs in 10 years? Maybe 3 in 12 years? Penn State has 3-4 every year.
