Yep this team overachieved most preseason projections , but not enough for our crowd
Yep, the bounce of the puck, round ball, or oblong ball is hard to predict. People were stunned when UCLA lost to NC State for the natty bball championship.

This women's team has been fun to watch, they lost a big cog when McCabe went down not only for her on the court but I have read because of her "demeanor"

I hope they get games in CHA for the first two rounds

True, BUT you realize expectations change based on your play. Just a couple of weeks ago sitting at 8-0 in the B1G we were "supposedly" in the discussion as a one seed. There's an ebb and flow to all of this...

Ohio St had an 18 point lead on Maryland at home. They are now down 7 with just over 2 minutes to go

Hawks sitting in a good spot all things considered. Maybe the best road to the Elite 8.
Let's see how this post ages.

I love this Iowa Women's team, but they will drop at least 3 more games this season before the tournament and the question of a top 16 seed will likely be a toss up.

Hope they can hang on to play at Carver. Not real optimistic.

Are you searching through my posts bc you’re mad about something I said on the OT board?

Not at all. Just bookmarking your wishy wash behavior.

Win a game, Iowa is Elite 8 in Women's.

Lose a game or two, Iowa sucks in Men's.

Long season for both- let it play out.

That is totally well-adjusted, normal behavior.

Maryland doesn't play ball until they are down 20. Did it against Minnesota, almost against Iowa, and now against Ohio State.

There absolutely is. It should also be acknowledged that the 3 teams Iowa lost to these last few weeks are UCLA on the road which is one of the 2 best teams in the country, USC on the road which is on a 5 game winning streak and 22 in the NET, and Minnesota which is on a 7 game winning streak and 10 in the NET. Iowa lost to 3 really good teams. They also beat a lot of good tournament teams including Baylor, OSU, MSU, Maryland, and Washington. This is a very good young team, and they're learning how to beat other good teams without one of their senior leaders. I'm still optimistic.

Absolutely, though its is a bit concerning how badly they lost those games, especially Minn. in Carver. I'm just saying its time for the upside if they're going to stay on that three line and host the first two games. Some tough games to finish Feb. and then the B1G tourney...

Looks like Minnesota's Mara Braun played USA u17 3on3 with Lucy Olsen.

Minnesota opened like 2-10 vs. Wisconsin just now. On a 7 game winning streak. Need them upset.

Minnesota is very underrated by pollsters and is one of the best teams in the B1G. They have now won 8 straight and haven't lost since Tory McKinney returned from injury. As their second best player, they are 19-3 with her in the lineup. They are 1-3 without her. They are currently 9th in the NET rankings and I predict will end up with a top 4 seed in the tournament.

Any chance for Iowa State to play their way into hosting? Win their conference tournament? They’re all back and seem to be playing well.

ESPN has them as a 9 seed right now. They'd probably need to win out plus win in the regular season plus win the Big12 tourney to even get back into the conversation.

Women have been outperforming nicely. Nice to see they are guaranteed the two Carver games in the NCAA tourney.

My post was before the Minnesota loss and a very nice comeback win over Illinois.

If Iowa faces Michigan in the BTT, wanna take Iowa straight up as a side bet? You can name the amount. Michigan will be favored, of course, and I will cheer for the Hawks.

Nah you posted that on 2-15. Iowa had just beaten Washington on the 11th. You expected them to lose 3 of their last 5. I don't bet on sports in any shape so no thanks on the wager.

As nice as it would be to earn a 2 seed, if we're just strictly thinking big picture matchups, it would be better for us to be that last 3 seed in order to get into Texas' region.

They are the least daunting of the potential 1 seeds, however, there is zero path outside of winning the BTT for us to get that top 2 seed to end up in Texas' bracket.

More than likely, we will be in South Carolina's region, or also UConn if a few other teams ahead of us finish strong in their CT.

They won't put Iowa and UCLA in the same bracket 1-2.
