Politi did a good job on this one.

Would be hard pressed to find a RU fan who objects to Duff being the face of Rutgers football.

"I want to be here. I’m excited about the season myself.”

“It meant more to me to be here,” Duff said. “It’s just like, 30 or 40 years down the line, how are you going to be remembered at a place? Being here since my freshman year and working up to the position that I am now, I think I can have a chance to leave a very positive impact.”

" offer a package believed to be in the neighborhood of $2 million"

I know this is the way things are today but I don't think I'll ever be able to wrap my head around this. I understand that he's our best player and I love watching him in the scarlet and white but this has all happened too fast for me.

He's best WR since Sanu and better than Britt imo (he was never a great two hand catcher never mind one). Hopefully there are other WRs who are good enough to make it hard to just focus on Duff

Pretty sweet deal. He has a pretty good head on his shoulders. If he saves and invests it well then he will be set for life.

If I’m reading the rookie scale correctly he’s getting more than most 2nd rd draft picks.
Yep - and it’s fully guaranteed (only the signing bonus is in the NFL).

He’s also likely got insurance in case of injury.

Hope he has a major senior year. The schedule is much easier but he unfortunately won’t have Kaliakmanis this season

For him to have a major senior year, they're going to have to figure out the QB and KC has to call plays in which he is a participant.

It’s the WR2 and WR3 who will play a big role in deciding.

I wonder how much of that $2 million was from Kelli’s new money or if it was baseline from tv contract - cause it sure seems like they spent a lot on retention.

had to keep him, he was close to leaving. The loss of Strong changes things for the offense so need to make sure that threat is retained and hope one of the other steps up so the defenses don't focus on him.

A lot of the money raised by Zinn went towards retaining certain key players.

Curious as to who from the excellent group of prospects currently on RU's roster will provide threats to take some of the pressure off of Duff. It's a pretty impressive group:
Ben Black, Famah Toure, Jourdin Houston, Vernon Allen, Sah'Nye Degraffenreidt, Michael Thomas, and true freshmen Dyzier Carter and Elias Coke.

I look for big things this year from Ben Black. He came through in crucial spots last year against Purdue.

This
Duff will see a lot of double teaming this season.. gives other WRs opportunity to shine. Black, Braithwaite, Vernon Allen, Thomas, Famah Toure, Dyzier Carter , etc. time to make some noise in the B1G !

If the money is right, I can see Duff staying for a senior year here and possible 1st round pick.
he seems to be a kid that also puts a good education as important as well and all things equal- really would love to leave his legacy at Rutgers.

I thought that Black had too many drops in 2025. My guess is significant contributions from Vernon Allen and Dyzier Carter.

Every school has $20M of revshare spend. Roughly $16M goes towards football. That’s where the $2M came from.

What’s the saying: NEXT MAN UP???

Hopefully there’s 2, 3, 4 of these receivers who will step up and do their thing in 26. Same for those in all the other position rooms.

This. Hopefully he works on his catching skills. He can be a difference maker in 2026
