The guy can flat-asses shoot it! Kansas can guard him all they want but when your fading out of bounds on the baseline and shoot it abd it goes in, not much you can do. He’s gas 3 3’s in the first 4 minutes of the second…Cy’s up 21 over KU.

Kent McCauslandesque52% from three coming into the game.
Mac's kid could flat out shoot it.....Kent McCauslandesque![]()
Joel, go over to the lone board, if they have one. We could care less about a clone player. The guy can flat-asses shoot it! I liked Kent but that was about all he could do...Mac's kid could flat out shoot it.....
You’d think there are folks here who appreciate good basketball. I know I do. Regardless of the uniform.Joel, go over to the lone board, if they have one. We could care less about a clone player.
And he did it very wellI liked Kent but that was about all he could do...
Hey I'd take a guy who shot 52-53% for an entire season from three, Led the nation in three point % as a senior. He'd be a dynamite addition to this team....I liked Kent but that was about all he could do...
I thought that was supposed to be Brendan Hausen...Hey I'd take a guy who shot 52-53% for an entire season from three, Led the nation in three point % as a senior. He'd be a dynamite addition to this team....

I don't think he was ever that consistent.....I thought that was supposed to be Brendan Hausen...
Momcilovic is 43% career vs Hausen's 39%. Hausen played 28mpg for KSU last year, at Iowa he is only averaging 10mpg. The guy can shoot pretty well, but I guess it has been determined that he has deficits not deserving of that many minutes.I thought that was supposed to be Brendan Hausen...
Larry is retired now… and Ted Williams never played basketball!
Lol. I definitely appreciate ballers regardless of uniform but it’s quite odd to do what you’re doing here. You’d think there are folks here who appreciate good basketball. I know I do. Regardless of the uniform.
Why? The Hawks are my second favorite team..second only to the Beantown Red Sox. Absolutely love the Hawks… probably why I find it easy to be honest about what I see from them… good and bad but seldom if ever do I dog-pile the players/coaches. Now the Red Sox… I question their current ownership often…but they own a soccer team, too!Lol. I definitely appreciate ballers regardless of uniform but it’s quite odd to do what you’re doing here.
The guy can really play though, you are correct.
That corner fade-away looked exactly like Purdue's Rick Mount back in the day.The guy can flat-asses shoot it! Rick might have added 3-5 points to his scoring average if there would have been a 3 point line. He could shoot’em and Coach Rose encouraged him to shoot! That corner fade-away looked exactly like Purdue's Rick Mount back in the day.
On Feb. 28, 1970, Iowa played Purdue @ West Lafayette. Mount, hitting shots from literally everywhere, including following out of bounds in the corner, scored 61 points! But Iowa won the game 108-107 on its way to a 14-0 Big Ten title under Ralph Miller.
Mount had scored fifty against Iowa in their earlier meeting that season in Iowa City, but the Hawkeyes won that game too, by six.
Mount was one of the all-time great scorers, long before the 3-point shot came along. Moncilovic's performance was reminiscent of those Rick Mount performances.
It was probably bent because someone in an intramural or pick-up game was hanging on the rim. As an undergrad I used to play pick-up games on the Field House floor up to 4 p.m. on game days when the games started at 7. Can you imagine playing intramurals and pick-up games at Carver up til 3 hours before tip-off of a Hawkeye game? But that's how it was into the early 80s at the Field House.Rick might have added 3-5 points to his scoring average if there would have been a 3 point line. He could shoot’em and Coach Rose encouraged him to shoot!
When Mount was a junior and came to IC, pregame he complained ti the officials ratchet west rim was bent in the Field House. The refs ordered maintenance to measurethe rim with a level. Sure enough it was out of level and refs ordered it replaced before the game was started. Mount had a typical Mount/Iowa game that night and scored 40-50 points just to rub salt into the wounds.
(One if the Iowa players (a sub) lived across the hall from me in Hillcrest and post game told us that the Iowa players had been complaining about that rim being bent the night before in practice but no one bothered looking at it.) That was pretty typical of how that 67-69 season went.
