Just to give you an idea...I have access to 10-12 seats for each game each season. Nice seats too, with parking passes.

So far, for the upcoming season, ONLY the tickets for OSU are ALMOST gone and not even all of those are gone yet. 3 years ago, they would have all been spoken for by now.

Or they dont want to waste their time debating the same thing over and over for the umpteenth time.

The season will be what the season will be. Then the powers that be (not the fans) will make a decision from there.
I mean...that is what sports boards are for and what we have done on here forever...But NOW they are bored of it?

The Utah beat-down left me sad and silent.

But, one of my favorite days of the year is the NFL draft. Two Huskers were invited to the combine: Emmitt Johnson and DeShon Singleton. Will they get drafted? Will any Huskers sign as undrafted free agents?
They mentioned on the pod that Iowa had like 8 players invited which was the standard for the top half. Northwestern had 3 invited for perspective. Ugh.

I have officially accepted we aren’t special. We are literally Rutgers, Northwestern, Purdue. I have zero optimism in the off season. I am in full W/L during the season. it would be awesome if we could pull a nebrasketball. Agree with an earlier poster - maybe the lack of interest and pressure and low expectations will actually be a good thing and they come out and kick ***.

oh well.

Nebraska is easily a bottom program in the B1G based on the last 11 years. It’s not even a debate.

- 17 total draft picks in 11 years (can increase in April), 5 of which were Pelini developed players.
- 30 1st-3rd All B1G team players in 11 years, 9 of which were Pelini developed players.
- 35-62 in B1G play the last 11 years, with winning records against only Maryland, Michigan State, Rutgers.

We have multiple threads of different people saying the exact same thing. Then the responses to that are exactly the same.

This board never used to be like that. At least not to the level it is now.

Yes. I mean, just look at this thread. Everything is being rehashed.

I also think recruiting was talked about way more often in the past. Signing period wasn't until February and you knew the guys you were signing were sticking around for multiple years. So there was a sense of investing in the players. Now, people find very little interest reading about players who could leave after 1 season or even sooner.

I used to post wayyyyy more 10+ years ago. Mostly because there were new conversations being had.

I think you are right about the recruiting part, especially how big of a deal HS recruiting used to be compared to now.

Just because he was better than Riley, Frost and Rhule doesn't mean he was a good recruiter.

He got some good recruits, but what was needed to be a consistent Top 10-15 team.... he just didn't have it.
Class ranking since joining the B1G:
Pelini - Average 23rd. High 16, Low 32.
Riley - Average 29th. High 23, Low 35.
Frost - Average 25th. High 18, Low 41.
Rhule - Average 42nd. High 18, Low 101.

Granted, Frost and Rhule are weighted on HS recruits alone above since Bo and Riley didn’t have that luxury. If you include transfers:

Frost - Average 23rd. High 18, Low 32.
Rhule - Average 38th. High 20, Low 78.

The dorky fans that were scared of Bo pushed the the "he is a bad recruiter" thing so hard that even stats won't change their mind.

Good lord that Collins DT is still in the ******* NFL!

David will be a HOFer...

AA is still in the league!

Bo was a good coach. Matt is neither a good recruiter or a good coach. He just knows whose arse to kiss to get paid. We’ve all worked with that person, that gets promoted but is awful at their job. That’s Matt

Basketball team is pretty good
Give them a little more time.. heh. They are 1-3 in the last 4. ... and i know, I jinxed them when I tuned into the Michigan and Illinois games. I didn't watch any of the Purdue game but I did see them warming up and I quickly changed the channel. Good luck to them i guess.

As far as football goes, I just hope they are putting in real work now because Ohio has our game circled. They are coming to win.

Hope our team got rid of their Xboxes and pot pipes. Otherwise, it will be another sad "Northern Illinios" game for the opener.

I predicted 9 wins last year and we only got 7...so rhule owes me 2 wins down the line...

I know rhule got a decade old dumpster fire to rebuild, where pass happy fans rejoiced with 3 wins..
but we will be expecting more w's

That doesn't show he was a good recruiter. Just better than 3 other duds. It's like being the tallest midget.

Bo was an average coach.
I think he was a decent dc, especially with his db coach that got canned...same thing could be said about white....
note to rhule, on the back burner think who would be a good db coach in the future..because the one we have might get hired away after next year..(see future planing)

I can’t speak for others. But this is the least excited I have been for a new Nebraska football season in my lifetime. Yet more coaches fired and new coaches hired. No new infusion of difference making talent. No clear identity on either offense or defense. Special teams coach gone. Very tough schedule ahead. Looking like a 4-8 season and a program on the decline with a lame duck coach we can’t afford to fire.
To me it was frosts 3rd year I knew Deep down that frost was not going to the right guy i had to endure and year and 3 games. For some reason I still believe Rhule will turn things around. On paper it looks like a daunting schedule but the games still have to be played, maybe Indiana won’t hit the jackpot with their quarterback transfer this time. Now if Nebraska goes 4-8 Rhule needs to go and I’ll donate kongs retirement to help with the buyout

4 wins might be the ceiling. There is no football question to which Matt Rhule is the answer. When it comes to actual X's and O's, I guarantee there are many on this board alone who have forgotten more than MR ever knew or will know.

He is a self-styled "program builder" in an era where that has never been less relevant. And even then, it didn't stop him from openly complaining about having to build a program here.

When it comes to loyalty, all you need to see was his performative signaling to Penn State the week of the Minnesota game to know his facade is thinner than tissue paper.

As far as being an executive....give me a break. I've never seen more people get fired but remain on the payroll. I've never seen worse game management from the sidelines. The brand was "year 3", but every decision he has made has put NU into a year 4 rebuild mode.

The buyout/extension is the ONLY reason MR survives this season (if he does).

I agree with all of this. Especially the part about Rhule playing the PSU card last year. Made me want to puke. I live in Pennsylvania. Surrounded by PSU fans. NOT ONE of the hundreds I ran across wanted Rhule. If PSU had hired Rhule PSU fans would have rioted and burned down Beaver Stadium. Here is the reality of it all: Matt Rhule was NEVER going to be hired by PSU and he was NEVER a serious candidate. And Rhule knew that. But he played up the fact that the AD was an old friend and made it seem like it was really possible.
It wasn’t. And for our AD to fall for that bullsh$t is all you need to know about how stupid he is.
Rhule has zero love for or loyalty to Nebraska. He is in it for the money. Period.

Some of yall have a fetish for midgets.

And yet he did the best recruiting for all the lame excuses you would likely come up with as to why Nebraska can’t recruit.
His recruiting didn’t come close to Callahan’s recruiting. Even though he probably recruited better players than Riley, Frost and Rhule, that’s not saying much.

Callahan recruited so well he went 27-22. Bravo.

Here’s his recruiting stats you can drool over:
Average 23rd, High 8, Low 35.

2 whole whopping ranking positions better than Pelini’s entire tenure (25th) on average. Tell me how much taller THIS midget of Callahan is.
