That was your biggest takeaway? Weird take. He arguably played better than everyone not named Stirtz.

I’d love to hear your analysis of Howard? Sage? Folgueiras? Koch?
2-7 from three fyi. So yeah next best player besides Stirtz. Who else took that many threes?

Personally, I think we should have huge cause for concern going forward. The past two games we've just been so dead on offense and failed to get stops on defense. Another slow start too. If we don't steal one of these big games, we'll be in big trouble.

I love that everyone is writing them off after one ice cold shooting night and retarded officials.

Iowa wins Saturday. Book it.
I know Purdue is not playing well right now but Purdue is going to have a big chip on their shoulder after Iowa was close to beating them last time. This game could get ugly early.

Don't forget no answer for Cluff or their 7'2 kid, either

Especially if we rely on Stirtz to make a shot or a pass for a layup

wtf Howard!?!?

Makes the great cut for the pass and then throws it away badly on the corner feed to Coop
To be fair to Isaia, I wasn't aware that MD deflected the ball OOB on that play and was still Iowa ball - not until play came back from the media timeout and it was still Iowa ball.

I will indeed reserve my right as a Hawk fan to criticise the travesty that is BIG officiating, and as horrible as it was tonight, that was not the reason they lost the game. Any time you have 4 players, yes 4 players combining for 7 total points, you're not going to win many ballgames. Ben will level things up as they should be going forward. Flush this, learn from this, and get better and be back on a winning track.

They have Michigan at home after their game at Iowa. Painter will tell his guys not to overlook Iowa, but it is human nature. It’s exactly what just happened in this Iowa-Maryland game.

Iowa beats Purdue. Book it.

I dont get Sage sitting on the bench unless is sick or hurting and Iowa needs a big bad , Try Jirak some instead of Folgers
Agree, and although he only produced 4 points, he only played 9 minutes, compared to 33 total minutes for AF and Howard and they didn't score a single point. What I can't figure out to save my neck is Coop standing around and looking uninvolved in loose balls. He was better going after 50-50 balls early in the season.

After 30 minutes of reviewing that Iowa SCV in the first half and saying the ball didn't hit the rim, when it CLEARLY DID, said all that needed to be said about the quality of officiating tonight.

The cherry on top of that play was Stirtz having his arm grabbed while attempting it.

No foul
No shot clock reset
Iowa rebounds it and gets called for a shot clock violation.

That’s bad even for the B1G.

My biggest concern isn't the offense, it's the defense. It's our crutch when our offense isn't hitting all of its shots. It failed us tonight, and almost failed us against NW. Ben has to figure out something quick before Purdue comes to town.

I'm bipolar.

While I'm sick to my stomach and pissed that Iowa lost tonight ...........

at the same time, I'm kinda happy to feel that way about a game this late in the season with a brand new coach in his first season and a roster that was previously in the MVC.

So, on one hand I hate the loss, but on the other hand its great that I care this much again this soon.

I'm not sure I would say half the team does not want to score. It is a side effect of Ben's offense. He does not want shots with more than 15 seconds on the clock unless it is basically a on layup.
Not sure about that either…I swear he had a word with Stitz after he made a layup vs Northwestern with lots of time on the shot clock. Unless it was about something else, but Stirz definitely did give him a ‘WTF’ expression…

And Fears for MSU will dig and flail and get phantom calls while they swallow their whistles on the actual fouls that Stirtz draws. This league has the worst refs in the country.
