Does Maryland have as many quad 1 wins as Iowa? Yikes. This team has not been good the last couple games. Saturday should be ugly.

Iowa will always be susceptible to losses like this, this year. Stirtz is a stud, but there’s a reason the rest of the roster was at the mid major level

You gotta work harder on that troll act.

zzzzzz
Losing to Maryland has much more effect on the NET then beating Purdue at home. Iowa needed to win the cupcakes to have a chance. Maybe they’ll pull something out of their hat down the stretch. You keep chugging that kool aid but LOL at your delusion of thinking a team that can’t beat Maryland is going to finish out the remaining schedule strong to make the tourney. They needed this cupcake win and blew it.

Not showing up for the first 20 minutes finally caught up to them, in the absolutely worst possible game to drop.

Congrats, I guess?

Bad losses = 83 NET Minnesota and 159 NET Maryland (& only 2 Q1 wins to balance that out)

Rats.... Iowa just beat 2-10 NWern at home by only 6, then lost at 2-10 Maryland. Not good.
Both sides of the ball are regressing outside of Stirtz.

Defense can't stop guys from going to the basket, so then they play off and teams have re-discovered their magic 25% shooting bonus to their 3 pt shot they get when playing Iowa, so they can't stop the 3 either.

Then we have half a team that doesn't want to score, and another half that doesn't know how to finish against Big Ten bodies.

Awesome stuff. So fun to watch. No wonder we have to beat fans away from Carver with a flamethrower..............

Stirtz knocked into next week, but no call

Because OFC

"Nothing of ill intent", just BS getting his clock totally cleaned

Fugging idiot announcers
Bullcrap…. The Hawjs reaped what they sewed tonight…there defense looked vintage Fran abd tge call wasn’t falling…Tgey barely beat NE the other night…Tgey just aren’t playing well and the refs aren’t responsible for that.,

We got nothing from AF or Howard tonight. Nada. Hausen played 14 min compared to their 33 total min and had 6 points.

Well, even with terrible officiating, no excuse to lose that game
Absolutely. I saw Lute Olson back in my day go out to the middle of the court to argue a call. The atrocious officiating goes way back. You have to play your way around it and we didn't deserve to win. Offense looked terrible in the second half and no flow. Fugly all the way around.

Guess I can't fault the Iowa D for allowing all the drives by MD. Hard to play aggressively on D when the whistle is likely looming even when you do everything you can to avoid any contact that the refs can find actionable to call a foul on.

Every time they actually tried to 'D up', the MD ball handler just threw their body around at the same time they threw their heads back and bodies to the ground and it was automatic whistle against the Hawks.

Gross game.
Our offense could never flow due to the seemingly incessant whistles. Add to that the harsh reality is that they shot 28 FTs to our 17, making 2 more than our total FTs with 19. We turned it over 4 times to their 14 times. They led in FG% at 53% and we shot 42%. Could have used something from Howard and AF. Waste of human flesh tonight from them.

I'm not sure I would say half the team does not want to score. It is a byproduct of Ben's offense. He does not want shots with more than 15 seconds on the clock unless it is basically a layup.

The refs should be ashamed of themselves. Terrible shooting. The only reason it was close was because they were even worse from the free throw line.
