After dominating the FCS NDS jumps to the FBS
>Sources: North Dakota State has agreed to a deal to join the Mountain West in football only for 2026. The school is expected to pay nearly $12 million to join the league, which is in addition to the $5 million it will pay the NCAA to move to FBS.
The Bison won 10 national championships from 2011-24. Tim Polasek's team upset No. 1-seed Montana State in the 2024 title game and entered the 2025 playoffs as the far-and-away favorite to repeat as champions until a shocking upset by eventual runner-up Illinois State in the second round. <

When I saw the title, I thought maybe there was found a young, intelligent, rising politician immersed in the US Constitution, Bill of Rights, separation of powers, rule of law , etc. Someone dedicated to making right everything that has gone wrong. Oh well.

no just a football message , welcoming a new program ti the Mountain West and wondering if the success they had in FCS will follow them in a FBS G-6 Conference

A cajones grandes move. Considering the instability at the fbs level, giving up their cushy status where they currently are is bold. Let’s not schedule them…Howard, umass, Wagner is enough

Now to see if their HC Tim Polasek is anointed the new CC and sought after by P-4 programs, if the Bisons do well in the Mountain West

Not that $12M is a King's ransom, but it seems odd that they would have to pay an entry fee. I wonder how much they'll get back as a member of the conference and if it will be a full share.

No full share until 2032 and from what I could find it's estimated they will getting between $4-5 million a year from the MW until then.* but AI think that might be higher than it will be since most conference schools received less than $4 mil for media rights )
In 2028 they will have access to the MW bowl game tie-ins and Conference bowl game revenue along with being able to take a spot in a MW bowl tie-in if there aren't enough bowl eligible members to fill the slots .
Also the fees to leave FCS and join the MW will be covered by funds boosters put up and not the school .
Their other sports will remain in the Summit conference.
