Just learned CA taxes athletes for playing in CA even one game. Oh and practices are included too ("duty days")

"We project that Darnold will pay about $249,000 in taxes to California if the Seahawks defeat the Patriots."

Read up on this earlier this week, evidently most states with income tax do this. Loved this nugget:
“Famously, in 2014, Peyton Manning (then with the Broncos) earned a $46,000 bonus for being the Super Bowl runner-up. However, because he spent so many "duty days" in New Jersey that week, he ended up owing the state roughly $47,000 in taxes.”

Should sit heavier on Minnesota. Dude won 14 games for them and had a great season- Jet's are just the place all QB's go to fail.
Yes. This contrast is more recent and stark. That combined with McCarthy not looking very good and their middling record not delivering a high draft pick makes it even uglier.

Devin McCourty’s daughter doing pregame interviews on the SB show. Pretty cool
How old is she? Missed this. Devin and Jason are great guys, but I always remember their kids being pretty young running around the blood drive we did with them. I’m getting old.

She looked to be about 10 years old

You guys are already cranky before kickoff. Gonna be a long night…😎
Here's something to cheer peeps up. Tom Brady hooking up with the ladies:

Tom is 48. Alix is 25. Daughter of Earle Construction owner from Monmouth County. Step mother is Ashley Dupre Earle, famed call girl who brought Gov. Eliot Spitzer down.

Bea Arthur is still alive?

Drinking game- drink at every gambling commercial. I’ll let you know how the game goes when you black out mid second quarter

Rutgers Ra Ra has that spreadhseet. Information can be had for a price.

Ashley went to Wall HS. Residents of Wall are very proud of that! Earle gets a big chunk of the highway and paving projects South of the Driscoll Bridge.
I remember that whole thing. I also remember a detail I wish I can forget: Elliot kept his socks on during the encounter. Generals die with their boots on, but Elliot’s political career died with its socks on.

Darnold better be careful….he’s throwing into some tight windows and the Pats pressure looks really good….could be a bad recipe.
Yeah. Going into this game I felt the first QB to spit the bit with TOs after being pressured would determine the game. It really can be either one of these guys.

Makes the case for having the game in Texas, Florida or Tennessee. New Hampshire might have been a possibility, but they're waiting for an 80,000 seat stadium like Rutgers is for a fieldhouse The most egregious case was Ohio. Forget the player, but he was on IR and didn't make a trip to Cleveland. Ohio went after tax on 1/16 of his salary. It was litigated and fortunately they lost.

IDK about you, and I would never go "there" but I would wear socks, hip waders and a haz mat suit for such an encounter.

Can I say this game sucks so far or too early? These teams aren’t very good. How did this happen?
Was thinking the same thing. Get your socks on, and let's get some better entertainment. Imma gonna go ask the wife if I can go out.☠️
