Some announcers have huge egos and think they are the game now and want to be a part of it so bad. It's not professional to try to be the game instead of simply calling the game. Some of the best are the guys who do just that, Lundquist, McDonough, Jim Jackson, Gus Johnson. Just do your job and don't make it about you.

we’re a blue blood at home, wearing denim the anniversary of 1996 Sagarin rated top team of all time, 1996 players back at Rupp Arena….rival game against a poverty program in Tennessee.

And this ******* does nothing but talk about Tennessee the entire game.

He played at Arkansas, he’s a Calipari apologist, and his daughter goes to UT, and he and his mentor were fired at Kentucky as coaches.

Quit putting this ***** on our games. ESPN did a pathetic job tonight and it was wildly disrespectful.
He was pretty bad last night. Frankly, he's getting worse each year - I used to like his style, but it's almost as though he's losing touch with the rules of the game. He was going on about that one play being an over-and-back but then started back-tracking because, of course it wasn't an over and back and wouldn't be until a UK player touched the ball. Even then, it was tipped away and UK was perfectly fine going and getting the ball had we not been grabbed/fouled.

And then he rambles on about "the elbow". At least he's done with the tired "nail at the foul line" garbage. And if I hear "floppy action" out of his mouth one more time I may mute any game he's calling.

One final observation, especially last night, he NEVER SHUTS UP. His chops are going the entire damned time. I can't even recall hearing the other guy's voice during the game except intros after timeouts. He literally talked and filled the air nearly 100% of the action. I recall thinking "shut the hell up, you don't need to yap the entire time!". Reminds me of my stepdaughter - a mid-teen who's every single thought comes out of her mouth in a rambling fiasco of constant chatter from morning until night.

He used to be great, albeit goofy. I dont know what happened. Maybe he was more of a Calipari person. But he was essentially a Kentucky fan calling our games for a good decade. So nice to have that as opposed to Bilas and Jay Williams. But now he seems to actively root for our opponents.
Yes, I used to think he was pretty good, not so much anymore. Not fond of Ravech's call either. Maybe Jimmy, like Vitale should consider retirement.

Adolph Rupp is probably the biggest reason. He was an awesome coach and when his teams beat you , he reminded you that he was doing it while he was doing it. He wanted to blow other teams out , not just beat them. Also, he took a university from a rural somewhat poverty stricken Southern state and won big and beat these northern east coast teams. They couldn't stand it and have tried to get back at Kentucky ever since.
I say it all the time. This is why we are nationally hated. My father told me when I was young that being a UK fan get used to being hated. It’s not gonna change and what you’re saying is 100% the reason.

His daughter is actually a cheerleader for Tennessee. Seriously.

This is why he shouldn’t be calling our games but especially last night honoring the 96 team. His daughter goes there and this clown already has an issue with us with Calipari being the Arkansas coach. The guy barely mentioned the 96 team.

I like how Oweh was wearing Boswell like an overcoat on a 2nd half drive and Dykes said the cylinder foul rule needs to be revisited. Or maybe back up as defender and let the offense breathe?

I absolutely love that they have really cut down on the ridiculous charge call nonsense, magically when K retired. That would’ve been EXTREMELY helpful between 2010-2020 for us.

Jimmy is painful.

He thinks all fans are clueless and explains the most basic things.

"He's a 'don't give him any space' kind of shooter." What I mean by that, you can't give him any space to shoot it. Because he's a really good shooter, and he'll make it.

Last night: Since the whistle blew with 0 seconds on the clock, the refs are reviewing to see if they should put time back on the clock. That's what they do.

Thanks Jimmy.

He also came across as pretty Pro-UT last night.

He was really upset about Oweh's defensive foul not being overturned. "That's a cylinder foul, but that's a bad rule." I don't care what you think about the rule Jimmy. The rule is the rule. Their guy fouled our guy--according to the rules.

Meanwhile, Chandler took an elbow to the face and there were crickets.

Ehh, pretty sure we have had:

Bradshaw while playing Tenn.
Fishback while playing Auburn
Bradley (the shootah) while playing Arkansas

The whole conference had games against us with Larry Conley.

It will be ok.

When Pitino brought us back I remember us being the cool school. Announcers loved propping us up. ESPN had us as lead story most nights. Media liked Tubby as well. Always showing Donna happily cheering us on in the crowds. My memory says that all changed 2nd year Cal was here. Media loved the wall, boogie show. Then everything changed. That’s the year Emmertt took office. Cal then pissed off Nike by not wanting to play their early non con tourney's. Now, here we are. A Nike blue blood with zero commitments , announcers trashing us and officials calling phantom fouls.
