II disagree we are winning in spite of some really bad coaching.....Jan is an amazing assistant coach, but she is much of the nice coach and not getting on the girls at all...Jan atm still just isn't a good head coach right now and maybe never will be.....Iowa keeps winning in spite of her but then things get tough Jan has zero answers to turn it around.
Let's let the season play out then we will have two full seasons to gauge how good of Coach she is. Doesn't mean people can't be upset with the terrible performance last night, but the season is the body of the work that should be judged.
The great coaches improve with experience. It's way too early to write Jan off. There are some concerns that her ceiling is Bluder(sans Clark) level while we desperately need to take advantage of the Clark effect.

2. Headscratching lineup combinations.
3. Time out usage.
4. Working the officials, or lack thereof.
5. Too much loyalty to certain seniors.
These are the most noticeable to me.
A fan doesn't need to have coached college level sports to recognize things.

You appear to have your head stuck in the sand. A HC without previous HC experience needs to be scrutinized very carefully. She is falling short in a number of areas. I won't call her a failure at this point, but we should be on high alert.
Scrutinized, sure. If only they just knew more about her and what she could bring to the program, maybe got her on campus to evaluate if she understood recruiting to Iowa City, the culture of the team and the fanbase. Probably might have been good if the beloved retiring HC could have evaluated her abilities and given some sort of recommendation, maybe give her a trial opportunity? That would be such an ideal process. If only...
