Huge tumble for Rutgers down to 165. Now the worst Power 5 school once again. Indiana moves to 35.

I can’t wait for a poster to tell me it’s not as bad as Littlepage or Jordan. Or one that will tell me when just a NIL infusion Pike will be dancing again next year.

I know there are other factors but it shows how far off we are from 16th in B1G offense. Maryland is fifty spots higher with similar numbers at all three levels. We take way too many inefficient mid range from 6ft to inside the three PT range shots

Top 3,
Illinois Off Eff #1 (423 FTa 79.4%)
398 att(close) 67.8%, 210 att(Mid) 41.4%, 3pt 614 att 36%
Purdue Off Eff #3 (327 FTa 75.0%)
370 att(close) 73.0%, 383 att(Mid) 46.2%, 3pt 470 att 38.3%
Michigan Off Eff #5 (487 FTa 72.1%)
525 att+close) 70.3%, 144 att(Mid) 42.4%, 3pt 502 att 35.1%

Bottom 3,
Minnesota Off Eff #107 (446 FTa 69.6%)
390 att(Close) 65.4%, 204 att(Mid) 36.3%, 3pt 483 att 32.7%
Maryland Off Eff #131 (470 FTa 73.2%)
396 att(close) 53.0%, 238 att(Mid) 37.0%, 3pt 537 att 32.2%
Rutgers Off Eff #185 ( 451 FTa 72.9%)
380 att(close) 52.9%, 366 att(Mid) 37.7%, 3pt 405 att 31.9%

Agreed but that’s a by product of recruiting and bad offensive coaching. You can’t have a back court of under 6 ft guards and expect them to finish at the rim. Add Pikes inability to identify shooters from 3 and Knights inexcusable offense and you end up with the above stats

Funny. A missed floater by Francis is the difference between this and a seismic shift for both teams.
not sure the win would be more than 5 or 6 more spots and maybe MSU falls a spot. Most of the efficiency is baked in moreso than the results...we certainly lost efficiency with an awful overtime

yep Maryland at 170 now easily the worst rated Power 5, RU next to last.

by the way RU SOS now at 18 and will drop maybe even to 15 after the Nebby game but likely will be more like top 30/35 as the last 7 games really drop off overall in quality level.

I guess if I read this thread and absorb the truth that it spits I have PDS according to the losers who love the state of the program. Pathetic. Unlike TDS which is sadly real, I’m unsure what’s so wrong about wanting RU to be good.
No one is happy with mediocrity nor the record.

Howerer, if PDS is defined as living in misery and wishing failure on Pike who does not have the financial support to purchase players......you have it.

Zinn is hopefully changing the NIL landscape.

In addition, Pike did bring us success after 30 years of trying times. The rules have changed recently with NIL and the University fell woefully behind with Hobbs and no AD for 3 years.

Most fans are hopeful Pike can use the remaining years on his contract and earn an extension with success again.

However you would rather complain incessantly about the Pike being the problem. The team has played much better since entering Big 10 and some players who you probably wanted sent packing are now contributing.

I blame RU for the problems until proven otherwise. With enough NIL to purchase a serviceable center and keeping some of the players that are contributing we can be much better next year. Sorry we have a different perspective.

Shame I needed to post here since you could not leave our discussion on the other thread. Now I understand why you admit you are not very popular on these threads. Enjoy your misery.

Go RU......

FYI I had posted this before you and I had our meet in the middle moment on the other thread. But keep the fighting going if you’d like. Btw I’ve said over and over I don’t root for Pike to lose that would be stupid since I want ru to do well. I’ll ignore you now. Have a great life and take good care

Glad we agree for RU success but you guys are so negative it is perceived that way.

Go RU...Beat UCLA.

Going by Kenpom as of tonight, we would be 12th in the A10, 6th in the MAC, 4th in Conference USA and 4th in the CAA. And I think the eye test agrees

Maryland is a spot lower but Buzz got hired very late and had nobody left from the previous team so understandable there. They will have more money to spend albeit not that much more than Rutgers going forward but with a way more accomplished coach

The reality is Rutgers lost at home to Cent Conn State 67-54 and that one loss pretty much doomed them to terrible metrics all year long. It wasnt losing by 3..yeah wtf losses happen. It was being soundly beaten by a school with zero NIL...but Pike gets more mulligans than anyone Ive ever seen

Georgia Tech - 143
BC - 150
RU - 170
UMD - 182

To Bac's point about the loss to Central CT, PSU has a VERY similar profile to ours, but they have no Q4 losses. Their NET is 133. So RU would be in that range had we won that game.

UMD has no Q4 losses but if you look at their schedule, they have 10 losses by 18 points or more. We have 6.

Psu does have a 2 point loss to Michigan to go along with their 4 point loss to MSU

I propose a new rule for the NET: All overtime losses count as a 1-point loss.

Sucks to play a Top 10 team to a tie in regulation, only to get beat in OT.

It obviously won’t matter for us this year, but it might matter to bubble teams who lose to a higher ranked team by double digits in overtime.

That rule already exists.
