You do realize that is the knee she hurt either last year or the year before? I am guessing it is there for a pressure wrap to keep swelling down.Hannah seems more worried about how her eyelashes and left leg wrap look on camera than her game.

You can throw out all the different types of combinations you want but if you keep doing the same thing, you are going to get the same results.JJ threw so many different combinations out there tonite that there was seldom any cohesiveness.
Just totally confusing coaching decisions.
This somewhat resembled the Indiana game except they played a decent team tonite.
Lots of WTF moments tonite.
Jan Jensen outlined the unseen impact of losing senior Taylor McCabe after the 81-69 loss to USC:
“They got us at a really good time. The importance of a senior leader, that’s been to two Final Fours, that’s been a part of championships, that is one of our best defenders … she calms the waters when things like this happen. That’s what we were missing tonight.”
Last year after a 5 game losing streak, Jan was over her head and now after a 9 game winning streak with multiple wins over top 20 teams, she takes her team out to USC and loses, and the usual asylum nuts make fools of themselves. BAU.Yep, the same cast if characters degrading comments are pathetic.
Jan can't coach, she's over her head
Houston should get more minutes than Hannah, really
Don't like the way Jan is handling Deal
Ref's were horrible
Calling out players for their play
We are an NIT team
This team is embarrasing
In reality, traveling four hours west is tough and living out of a suitcase is harder.
USC came to play, we were sluggish and dug a deep hole.
Hannah's two early fouls were killer, we needed her senior leadership in the game.
Jan was right, it was a perfect storm.
Sunday will be tough, hopefully we start better. I still like this team, we are young and should learn from this.
FWIW, it is tough for all teams traveling through multiple time zones, whether East or West. The BIG footprint from sea to shining sea is tough. One time zone, not bad, but two is tough. Winter travel is brutal also, think what those California schools go through. The West coast expansion is hard for these college athletes. The west coast has been a problem for the football team and the men's BB team. Why would the women be any different?
Turnovers and bad shooting aren't a reflection of being "lazy" or "outworked". That's just really dumb. It's mostly a reflection of mental mistakes and having an off night. Each time the team struggles, even after a win you're freaking out and looking for someone to blame. The team didn't play well. They aren't going to play well every night, and when they don't, they don't have overwhelming talent to beat teams that play very well on a given night, particularly on the road. Now do turnovers. Lol. That's 100% lazy passing and offense.
If you watched tonight's game and seriously think they didn't outhustle and outwork us on both ends of the court you're delusional.
Stremlow had a good game. 11 points on 9 shots to go along with 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and a block. The negative was 3 turnovers, but I think one of those was on Ava who backed down her opponent as Stremlow threw an entry pass resulting in the ball being out of reach and out of bounds.I wouldn't say that but I don't think she should have taken four shots in seven minutes. Especially with minimal court time this season.
Outside of Houston, no one played well.
Ava and CC were ok.
What goes on behind closed doors we will never know and shouldn’t know. I understand coaches not wanting to throw their team under the bus to the public. I agree with a past comment that we need to win with our chemistry and connectedness. I trust Jan and the staff to handle the bumps in the road in the right way. Iowa team culture and player skill is the way we compete and win. Next play!!This is disappointing. Sounds like JJ is avoiding responsibility for an average effort against a good team. I hope she had a different post-game message for the team.
And the same cast of characters with excuses after a loss.Yep, the same cast if characters degrading comments are pathetic.

She’s not HC material. Sorry but that’s the truth. This is disappointing. Sounds like JJ is avoiding responsibility for an average effort against a good team. I hope she had a different post-game message for the team.
That might be a bit strong. I mean she currently leading a top 10 team with a 18-3 record. She’s not HC material. Sorry but that’s the truth.
PEACOCK. You aren't gonna get A team announcers.Idk who this announcer is, but she is not qualified for this job. A missed shot is not a turnover.
She’s not HC material. Sorry but that’s the truth.
The asst coaches are seemingly irrelevant during games. That might be a bit strong. I mean she currently leading a top 10 team with a 18-3 record.
I have been critical of Jan as well at times. I truly think that ISU game was a complete blunder of bad planning. And I do feel at times her lack of X and O knowledge has been costly in a lot of the teams collapses in games.
However, just like our buddy boy Kirk, Jan is a very good leader of women and as long as she has assistants that can fill the areas where she isn’t as strong it can work.
Agree. We still had a 4th year senior and a SIXTH year senior who were key members on those teams, (one was a starter on the 2nd run), where is the leadership there? Still interesting that the captains are Kylie and Strem. If the other two seniors are that big a voice of knowledge , calm, been there done that, then why were neither of them named captains? This is disappointing. Sounds like JJ is avoiding responsibility for an average effort against a good team. I hope she had a different post-game message for the team.
Overall I'd say Jans done a really good job. That doesn't mean she hasn't tripped up a few times. Her post game pressers have been interesting, with some of her commentsLast year after a 5 game losing streak, Jan was over her head and now after a 9 game winning streak with multiple wins over top 20 teams, she takes her team out to USC and loses, and the usual asylum nuts make fools of themselves. BAU.
Hannah isn't comfortable in that role.Agree. Oh, I totally agree, but I don't really think McCabe is either which is why I found Jans comment to be off. I could see her saying we missed the threat she brings as a three point shooter, (even if she's struggling because teams have to guard her on the perimeter).Hannah isn't comfortable in that role.
It's all about the forecasting.............Last year after a 5 game losing streak, Jan was over her head and now after a 9 game winning streak with multiple wins over top 20 teams, she takes her team out to USC and loses, and the usual asylum nuts make fools of themselves. BAU.
Maybe that's what she meant? I mean the player that replaced her in the starting lineup wasn't really ready to go last night, so if you read it that way....I could see her saying we missed the threat she brings as a three point shooter, (even if she's struggling because teams have to guard her on the perimeter).
What does that even mean? We were 8-0 in the league and ranked 8 in the country. Doesn’t hat mean our results have been pretty good. I don’t understand how we can win 8-9 in a row and then lose one to a very talented team (probably more talented than we are) and then suddenly we suck again. It wasn’t our night. USC was hot as Hell, Hannah picking up 2 fouls 2-3 minutes into the game was not great either. You’re going to lose games. We didn’t play our best and USC was lights out. It happens. But yes, at some point the turnovers just have to become more of a priority. On the other hand Houston really brought it last night. Kudos to her. Not the least intimidated out there. You can throw out all the different types of combinations you want but if you keep doing the same thing, you are going to get the same results.
All 3 of them? Oh my God we suck! You’re the biggest downer on the board. Not sure why you even watch the games. And the same cast of characters with excuses after a loss.
I see a pattern.
Lots of folks here would disagree with you. She’s not HC material. Sorry but that’s the truth.
They're all fans or they wouldn't be here. They just struggle with emotional regulation.Half of you aren’t even actually fans of the team you clearly only watch for the potential to complain and cry when things go wrong. It must’ve been agonizing watching them win 3 top 15 games in a row. Grow up.
So is it fair then to say that all of those 300 or so teams trailing Iowa in the rankings aren't HC material? She’s not HC material. Sorry but that’s the truth.
Clearly Jans done a pretty solid job overall. She won the award last season for best new coach I believe, (don't know the name of the award). This year the ladies have played pretty darn well with a few glitches against some top teams. I'd also agree with those that said USC is much more talented then their record would indicate. Not sure I'd rank USC's coach above Jan either. Obviously youth has bit us in the butt a couple of times this season. You also have to wonder where this team would be if Erod had assimilated into the team as I'm sure was the plan. Obviously Jans going to have to hit the portal for some help on the perimeter with MW being are only 2026 recruit and we need some quality depth to strengthen our backcourt. So is it fair then to say that all of those 300 or so teams trailing Iowa in the rankings aren't HC material?

Downer vs sunshine pumper..All 3 of them? Oh my God we suck! You’re the biggest downer on the board. Not sure why you even watch the games.

I don't think a senior should be immune to an a$$ chewing once in a while. JJ needs to light a fire under these senior team leaders when they are not playing to their potential. JJ seems to want to be a big sister more than a demanding coach.Careful now, we have several posters here that think we're too critical of a senior.

They did not adjust to how USC defended them and kept trying to run the same sets with not much success. What does that even mean? We were 8-0 in the league and ranked 8 in the country. so does that make it right? Lisa should have done it more. CC could have used it a few times too.I don't recall ever seeing Lisa Bluder giving an *** chewing to any player.
Did I miss it?
Nope. I was on here praising them after the tOSU win. If you think college-aged athletes are too precious to be called out for underperforming when they're capable of doing better, that's your call. I disagree. I will admit my tone doesn't need to be as harsh as it's been at times and I'll work on that, I just like this team and these coaches and think they're capable of big things. And when they get out into the real world in a few years working in their chosen professions and happen to screw something up, I guarantee you they're going to get called out and not treated with kid gloves to spare their feelings.Turnovers and bad shooting aren't a reflection of being "lazy" or "outworked". Nobody is saying any of this. It's only a problem in your own mind.Nope. I was on here praising them after the tOSU win.
