Mt Holly is comical using the NBM in their storm discussion

Ill make it simple...say you have 25 ensemble members and 2 show 25 inches of snow for I95 and the 23 show 0, the average is going to be 2 inches

Why its irrelevant for discussing the snow is that the 2 inches isnt accurate of anything when giving amounts. Yes it can be a scraper that gives 2 inches too but thats not how they are discussing the evolution

I find shocking that any snow maps are coming out at all this far in advance. We are 95% liklihood of missing a huge storm. 50% of a total whiff and 45% of some sort of coastal scraper giving a period of accumulating snow there with a maybe a 25% of light inland snow at that. And no real model confidence to even put out a map. Its only that they started talking about it on Sunday creating hype. The weenie board is an awful read full of wishcasters and bittercasting

There's a meteorologist from WPIX 11 whose page kept showing up on my facebook feed. I don't remember his name because he blocked me after I responded to his "significant snowfall for NYC" post, calling him an alarmist. This is the first time in my life I was blocked on facebook by a weather man. I take it as a badge of honor.

My mistake. The weather man who blocked me is not from WPIX 11. It's Mike Woods from Fox 5.

some good news after a day that will not get out of the teens is that mid week next week we might see some mid 30s which will feel quite nice after two weeks of brutal cold. There is a storm signal later next week but no one has any business analyzing at this point

So my d-bag neighbor, who does this alot, has left her dog out in the 14 degree cold, and he is howling away. It's a beagle. After how long until animal control should be called.? This neighbor is not worth interacting with--habitually inconsiderate, self-absorbed jerk. Feel bad for the dog.

That's messed up. A beagle shouldn't be outside for long in this weather. I don't know where you live but the wind has picked up in North Jersey making it even worse.

Some dogs are built for the cold, but a beagle is not one of them. I don’t know what the right time would be, but I’d be seriously thinking about calling animal control if the neighbor is not going to engage.

The cops can't make them take it inside??
Longer saga that has gone on for 8 plus years. Summer is the worst. Dog can be out for hours from midnight to 3 a.m. The husband was a total jer about the situation. After the two losers got divorced, it improved over the past 2-3 years, but it irks me to hear the dog yelping for more than 10 minutes when it is 15 degrees. Police said we would have to file a complaint with municipal court which is only open during the week. Town has a very weak and liberal dog barking ordinance compared to surrounding towns. Also have to deal with her buddy picking up the snotnosed kid every morning before 8 a.m., laying on the horn multiple times to get the kid to come out to the car. Hmm, how about using the cell phone and calling or sending a text?
