For both parties, I think it's in Brandon Garrison's best interest to transfer next season to a lower conference. The spotlight at this level has not helped him for his future. Given that he is a father, he needs to think rationally.
watching the first half, I can see why Pope is challenged to give Jelly more minutes
I agree with you BTW, but that was a bad half by Jelly.
Garrison can be solid, he just needs to keep his emotions in check. Its his achilles heel
I’m surprised more coaches don’t go right after Garrison, he’s the most immature player we’ve had in a long while.
He's getting paid big money to ride the bench, he is thinking about that, no one else are going to pay him now.
Yes, his post defense is by far the weakest part of his game. But I'm not trashing him; that's just not his game, he's really a big three. I like him and he's getting better all the time.

Not sure Jelly is strong enough to play in the 5 against some of these SEC big men, he seems more comfortable on the perimeter and facing the basket.
I’m not seeing anything from the guy at all. He gets a few open rebounds but for a supposed “euro pro” he can’t shoot for jack. I was excited when we got him and had high hopes. He’s just not very good right now.
Averaging 5.7 and 4 rebs while shooting near 50% from the field in 15 minutes per game. Decent numbers

Me too, sure he isn’t super athletic or flashy, but he gives solid minutes the majority of the time and doesn’t hurt us. The potential is there to play an Andrew Carr type role next year and we could use that IMO. You can’t expect him to be a superstar and realize he’s a 4-6th option best case. You need those players and he is that type of guy.
He just makes some stupid decisions that he needs to clean up. Garrison has better odds at doing some good things right now but Yela has the advantage long term. I’d probably give him more, but not in crunch time yet

No, he’s a 5 that isn’t very good defensively. Being a bad post defender doesn’t change your position. As a 3, he’d be a 3 that can’t dribble, pass, or shoot. That typically means you’re not a 3.

He’s made a couple of nice plays here and there like that full court drive for a finger roll against Texas, and although a small sample size, is 5/11 from 3 in SEC games, so I won’t quite say I’ve not seen anything. He struggles on defense and isn’t any kind of consistent star on offense though, so I honestly mostly agree that the infatuation with him that causes someone to start a thread complaining that he’s not playing enough every single game recently is a bit odd.
It’s not a “infatuation “,it’s an option to not play Garrison.
Because if he did, you and others would be complaining that Garrison never gets a chance. It literally never ends.

Love Jel but he struggles rebounding and on defense he got lost a lot. Thank God ole miss couldn’t capitalize. I do think he should get more time but I also see why Pope is hesitant.

Jelly is over 6/11 and can pass, dribble and shoot that alone is reason enough to get more time at that size and position.
Garrison's limitations are between his ears. That's not something that can be sorted out in the gym.

How in the world was Garrison a MCDAA?! That’s truly what I wanna know. He’s never been that good. He’s shown flashes, but it woefully inconsistent.
I don’t think he should be playing much of anything really. But since Kam went down, he needs to play 5-10 mins to spell Moreno. Personally, I think he’s awful but he’s all there is to backup Moreno.

To me, he seems to fit the role of a stretch 4 more than anything else. He isn't a bruiser, and while he isn't a phenomenal 3pt shooter, but he is a legitimate threat (29% for the season, but he's 5/11 in SEC play). He also has decent athleticism, handles, passing ability, and low post game.
Again, he isn't a superstar in any aspect, but decent across the board except defensively, where he struggles.
