Pope has done a good job of holding this team together despite the injuries. Our players are working hard and have showed no quit.
Of course, the anti-Pope contingency won’t see this. I guess you’re too preoccupied with your Bruce Pearl wet dreams to appreciate what the staff is doing.

Why? Let’s hear a real reason not speculation. We are going to most likely bring in Dink Pate who is JJ good friend and he will be a starter next year. There is zero proof of him transferring, only blind speculation.
okay so two things
1. the speculation comes from rhe fact we had fo pry jasper away from alabama in the first place, but we arent utilizing him right

2. we are NOT getting dink pate 😂😂😂

How many on here think JJ, can win Kentucky a championship? Anybody seen that in him? He is confident, and has a smooth a.ss shot, but he isnt going to muscle anyone around. I would like to see him develope his passing to another level, and come back next year.
idk if pope is our coach i think the cap is sweet 16 😂

Jasper is a Kentucky legacy. Pope likely won’t let him get away and bama sure isn’t going to compete in NIL for him. No way they can go where we will to keep a legacy kid. UNC will try, but Kentucky will pay him a premium for several factors.

1. It would be a super bad look to lose a Kentucky legacy after you’re already spluttering in recruiting. It would signal Mark can’t ever retain Kentucky legacy kids which would definitely signal the end for him at UK, even to a guy like Barnhart.

2. He’s worth more in a UK uniform, and he’s not so good that big time NIL’s will think he’s worth outbidding UK for.

90% chance given all those factors, and the fact that he’s literally playing at home with family here, he’s not going anywhere. Only way is if he just simple doesn’t want to play for UK or Mark and wants out. There’s been no indication of the, and Mark is starting to to trust him.

Would help if people would actually put some thought into this. I shouldn’t even have to explain it. UK is his home.

Bama fans will tell you they are going to lose Oats soon and they do not have an administration that is all in on basketball. They have a very poor NIL for basketball compared to football. Oats every year is having to threaten and make waves to force them to pay. Ask any bama fan, they know he’s leaving eventually due to NIL issues. Bama is not not going to lose even a 3rd string tackle to secure a star college basketball player. Kentucky is top 1-5 NIL, Alabama isn’t even close to top 15. Oats in all actuality wants UK.

lol, you all just don’t know ball. JJ is so far from a star you wouldn’t see the light for 10k years. I don’t even think he has star potential. He can be a good player and possibly even a really good one but slow down. He has 5 of his 8 points he accidentally banked in.

I will give him a ton of credit. Even with all these injuries and bad play we have gotten better. Credit to the staff for holding the fort together. Maybe it forced the right lineups and guys to play. Regardless good job.

Work on passing and decision making and transform his body. He will be a great college player.

great talent, still needs work on judgement

you want a player that isn't afraid of the spotlight, but also doesn't demand it

If he sticks around next year he could be a great for Kentucky, and change alot of minds about Pope's coaching ability

I'm about 50/50 that he transfers.
1.) He grew up a UNC fan, so any chance of him staying because of his "dream as a Kentucky boy to play for UK" isn't there to keep him.
2.) UK had to outbid to get his commitment. The NIL money isn't what it was for next season.
3.) He is not getting a lot of PT, including at least one DNP.

JJ absolutely has all tools needed to be a star he’s just not one yet. He will probably be one over the next 24 months at some point. He’s actually progressing extremely quickly too. Definitely a star player by junior year, if not before. As far as elite #1 guy, very few ever are. That’s just not knowable.

He actually spoke to this question this year, from what I was told he says he wasn’t a UNC fan he just followed them the same he followed all the top programs. He said he’s been surrounded by UK his entire life. I don’t know how much of an actual “fan” of UNC he even was. Not sure we outbid for him at all, UNC does not have a great NIL for basketball. They’re taking a backseat to work on football strength to look good for the SEC. They certainly won’t pay for a UK legacy anyway so he’s not going there. UNC is not a top 10 NIL basketball program, not sure they’re even close to it right now actually.

I think a year 4 Chandler, year 3 Johnson and Moreno could be one Hell of a core to a great team. If they all stayed. NBA Draft and the portal could come calling, but since we are dealing in hypotheticals, give me those three long term and yes, I think we could

Lol you're actually right about something. UNC isn't a top ten 10 basketball NIL school . They're probably top 5 lol. They've spent 15 million on this years team various places say

Not according some in their fanbase. I sat with a group of UNC alumnus this year in Lexington and they ranted and raved about their program suffering over poor NIL and went through a ton of guys they wanted but money has been appropriated into football for their move to the SEC. Do you know more than a traveling UNC alumni group who literally rolls around with the team and is familiar with their staff?

It was said that they’re all worried this SEC / ACC merger is going to disrupt them from competing for championships in basketball due to it. I mentioned Caleb Wilson and they said he was a must get and they had already had to pull out of a bunch of different guys because they don’t have it, basketball guys at UNC blame football. Caleb was coming here anyway until JMI bit us. He didn’t go there over more NIL.

Are you going to stay obsessed or would you like to just meet up and you can buy my lunch and dissect me in person? You seem to think you understand a lot of things you don’t apparently know anything about. You can probably just click to follow me and make it easier on yourself sweetheart.
