I think being able to be "fiscally flexible" meant we didn't need to be as competent.

Just because you're a great coach, that does not automatically make you a competent AD. Anyone who denies this is simply blinded by TO's greatness as a coach.

You don't think we would be playoff competitive right now in the big 12? Especially with more open recruiting to the west and south. I don't think people understood how restrictive joining the big 10 would be in terms of accessing Texas and the western states. Obviously we don't have the leadership at our school to have "lead the way" in anything, and likely would have failed in any case, but at least we could still have some historic rivalries and some interesting games. I have no interest in getting blown out by Oregon, Indiana, OSU, Michigan, Minnesota and then having " epic struggles" against Maryland, Rutgers, and Northwestern. Puke.

No! I think it is purely coaching or a lack of good coaching. I don't understand how anyone would think Mike Riley, Scott Frost (we will get to see this now that UCF is in the Big 12) and Matt the Hat would be any more successful in the Big 12. With that bunch of coaches, the Huskers would be in the bottom half of that conference. The Huskers just got shellacked by Utah. Texas Tech would have destroyed the Huskers, and I do not see the Hat be competitive against BYU, Houston, Utah, the two Arizona schools, Iowa State, TCU and I think K-State would win more than they would lose. Until we get a coach with a plan the Huskers are doomed.

Where did this inferiority complex amongst some Nebraska fans come from? Nebraska never used to run from Michigan, Ohio State and Oregon type schools. The problem is for the last 25 years the leaders of the University have accepted mediocrity. Can't keep hiring bad coaches and expect good results. I was very skeptical when Trev hired Rhule. As I have written before here, I've always thought he was a weird guy. Now, that I've seen him coach for three seasons I think he is even stranger than I initially thought and even a worse coach.

If Nebraska had a winning program they could recruit and keep good players from anywhere in the US.

I just saw that Rhule offered a girl QB for flag football and it says that she’s the first ever D1 P4 scholarship offer for female flag football. Are we the first P4 school doing this??

Correct, we're the first FBS school period. Nebraska needs 39 other schools to sign up by 2028 to have a D1 division.

Yes, by all means let's admit we are pussies who can't compete in the nasty Big 10. We can tuck our tails, go back to the Big 12 and pretend we're tough again.

This will be a new Olympic recognized report in 2028. NU will be adding to win Gold as the premier program for Volleyball. We are the state of volleyball!

The NFL is launching a Flag Football league. Look, I love flag football - I like this growth. I coached 5 youth teams that won the championship in NFL Flag. It's a ton of fun. Seeing the girls getting a chance is amazing and inspires a ton of girls I know (friends of my daughter).

But I can't watch Professional FF on TV like they're hoping. I see like 4-5 plays of the Pro Bowl and I'm like "Hmmm... got it. I'm good."

Do you guys think this will succeed at the NFL level - or go by the wayside like the other pro football leagues that have tried?
