Indiana spent a ton on hoops in the portal and currently are headed to miss the NCAA tourney
Find me the team that spent very little in the portal and are definitively heading to the tourney

they also just had a brutal 4 game stretch similar to what we’re entering

everyone in the top 10 right now of the big ten spent substantial $ in NIL you pointed out the one that’s underachieving

point being … you better be taking a swing

What’s your point then?

i asked if there’s anyone doing big things without some level of paying for a roster

Ill have to go through but its hard to figure out

Iowa likely didnt spend much but they arent top 25

Our mods claim Rutgers will spend in middle of pack next year. I dont believe that

I don’t either and I hate Nil has much as you do

but I love my Alma mater and can’t stand to see them lose

if the school wants to be competitive they have to make that choice now or never and in the same vein I don’t pay attention to how much my professional teams spend to win or lose I’ll do the same for Rutgers

It’s too soon to say that any team is a sure thing to make the tourney two months away but Miami (OH) would make it if the season ended today.

Before anyone rushes to say RU would have a great record, too, if they played Miami’s schedule, they had one common opponent. Maine. RU won by 12. MU won by 32. RU lost to Central CT. Miami is undefeated.

1 team but really I was referring a high major that didn’t spend in the portal or have significant Nil

I was not impressed with seton hall other than they are old and play hard which I do appreciate. They are a bunch of mercenaries though not really a college team although those probably don’t really exist any more. It’s a shame college basketball has become such an utter sham. I recall watching Rutgers and seton hall ina double header long time ago I believe at the garden and rooting for the hall in their game. So much has changed and not for the better at least as a fan of what used to be college basketball

Most of the best teams ie top 25 contending programs are not mercenaries

They retain their core recruit welll and add a couple key impact pieces each year

full roster turnover no good
