Wrong.Iowa never made a single appearance in the AP poll until this final one.
Rewatch the game, Vandy could never really challenge or get back in the game, some garbage points late, that’s it. Iowa was dominant.
lol, we all watched the game, rewrite your own history if it makes you feel better. O line blew Vandy off the ball and D sacked the midget four times in the first half. garbage points late but never really a threat to win the game.
lol at the panty waist trying to downplay Iowas bowl win.Dude who insults Beth Goetz's football knowledge claims that a game in which a team was a 3rd down stop away from getting the ball back with 2:00 left with a 7-point deficit was a game dominated by one team in which the other had no chance to win.....LOL....dumbarse.
To Iowas defense a little bit ISU wasn't bad when we played them. They got worse as the season went on because of injuries.No. I'm just saying that one game doesn't change a season. If Iowa doesn't end up with 4 losses they're likely a top 10 team. Don't lose to a crappy ISU team and they're likely a top 10 team. How many 9-4 teams are ranked above Iowa in the final poll?
14 points in the 3rd quarter and a touchdown 4 minutes into the 4th isn’t “garbage points late”. And Vanderbilt was within 7 points twice during that time period. SMHRewatch the game, Vandy could never really challenge or get back in the game, some garbage points late, that’s it. Iowa was dominant.
We know YOU don’t. You prove it with each post you make.yes I do no not think Beth has intricate knowledge of football schemes on either side of the ball.
But he didn't so that's a moot hypotheticalIt was a physical beat down, where Iowa led start to finish and wouldnt have been close if Lester just runs it in from the four yard line. the LOS was dominated by Iowa.
garbage points late? Which of the 60 minutes don't count? The teams traded touchdowns twice in the 4th quarter and it was a one possession game.Rewatch the game, Vandy could never really challenge or get back in the game, some garbage points late, that’s it. Iowa was dominant.
Hahaha here come the blobs of quivering jello crying themselves to sleep because KF concluded a great season with a bowl win over VandyWe know YOU don’t. You prove it with each post you make.
One could point to a few critical plays...........vandy interception that should have been a Hawkeye td.......vandy hail mary 1 play td drive......MG's scoop of fumbled ball etc. but it was fairly obvious to me that Kirk out coached the other guy.Dude who insults Beth Goetz's football knowledge claims that a game in which a team was a 3rd down stop away from getting the ball back with 2:00 left with a 7-point deficit was a game dominated by one team in which the other had no chance to win.....LOL....dumbarse.
Vanderbilt was within 7 almost the entire 4th quarter.lol, we all watched the game, rewrite your own history if it makes you feel better. O line blew Vandy off the ball and D sacked the midget four times in the first half. garbage points late but never really a threat to win the game.
Wrong again. I have been nothing but complimentary about how the season ended up, and expressed my happiness several times. It was a great season and I’ve said as much….even said it was one of Kirk’s best coaching efforts. They exceeded my expectations.Hahaha here come the blobs of quivering jello crying themselves to sleep because KF concluded a great season with a bowl win over Vandy
This 85bears guy is ridiculous.Wrong again. I have been nothing but complimentary about how the season ended up, and expressed my happiness several times. It was a great season and I’ve said as much….even said it was one of Kirk’s best coaching efforts.
How does it feel to be so wrong, so often, and the laughingstock of this board? You really should quit while you are behind.
I had another word in mind, but that one works! This 85bears guy is ridiculous.
It was a great win. Iowa made some awesome offensive plays, providing some rock solid entertainment for us to watch.
................................meanwhile back in Nebraska....................................It was a great win. Iowa made some awesome offensive plays, providing some rock solid entertainment for us to watch.
Nobody's butthurt.
The AP poll is a joke and should be scrapped. A full 50% of the teams in their preseason poll didn't even end up in the final poll. Iowa never made a single appearance in the AP poll until this final one. Had we been properly ranked throughout the season, given our body of work and the teams we played, we'd have finished a lot higher than 17th. Is there anyone with a functioning brain that thinks we would lose to Alabama this year? But because they started the year so high, they could lose to a putrid FSU team and still finish in the Top 10. Blow it up.
Wrong.
I'm not wrong.....sorry.
Be patient, they were a blue blood a quarter of a century ago. Next year for sure.Nebraska never made it in??????????????????
They beat Oklahoma in the CFP! They actually went up 2 spots from 11 to 9 because they gave IU their toughest game of the season!Alabama in the top ten with 4 losses is a bit odd to me.
Iowa gave IU their toughest game, Lots of things in the 4th Qtr had to go right for IU and wrong for Iowa to drop that game , IU dominated Bama in that 1st half .They beat Oklahoma in the CFP! They actually went up 2 spots from 11 to 9 because they gave IU their toughest game of the season!
Guess I was going off the CFP poll where Iowa appeared in weeks 10, 11, and 14Iowa's only appearance in the two main polls this season was #24 in Coaches' poll week of Nov 3rd.
They spent many weeks receiving votes from both polls, as well as 4 weeks in the CFP Top 25.
And don’t forget this offseason. The Huskers are perennial offseason blue bloods. There isn’t a 17-year-old stud athlete that doesn’t want to see a Sears Trophy from when his parents were in kindergarten. The offseason is when Nebraska can land these future washouts and transfers by the dozen!Be patient, they were a blue blood a quarter of a century ago. Next year for sure.
Disagree, and polls support my assertion. It's Alabama that dominated IU but came up short.Iowa gave IU their toughest game, Lots of things in the 4th Qtr had to go right for IU and wrong for Iowa to drop that game , IU dominated Bama in that 1st half .
I don't think the voters think that hard.I like where we’re at, but still behind Vandy is a head scratcher. Only thing I can think of is that voters didn’t like our loss to a bad Iowa State team. I mean, barely losing to the eventual national champion, a CFP semifinalist, and USC on the road should be enough to be placed ahead of a team we beat soundly in a bowl game.![]()
They don't seem to be impressed by their in-state high school talent. I know they have a smaller population than Iowa, but Nebraska kids who can play ball don't appear to get offers from DONUT.And don’t forget this offseason. Yea pretty strange, Iowa is constantly developing instate two stars into nfl players and Nebraska doesnt even recruit their own state. They don't seem to be impressed by their in-state high school talent.
