So it’s ok to physically attack someone if they hurt your feelings? No less on national TV. Strange times we live in, people trying to rationalize conduct like this.

I never said it was ok, I'm saying I don't have all the information about what happened. Once the information comes out, then I make my decision. I get it, some of you really want to call him a thug, and maybe he is, but at this point I can't make that call based on limited information.

That sounds like bullchit , I doubt the IU player even knows who Fletchers dad is

That's it, now totally disregard what you read because it doesn't help your quick judgement. This is why you wait to make a decision. And now I'll wait to hear what IU has to say about it. Again, I'm waiting until there's more information before coming to a conclusion. I think it might be best for you to do the same.

His PR guy apparently told him to make sure he went out and got seen on camera congratulating Mendoza after looking like a hot-head.

Of course his PR guy (or university) did, and he actually listened and did it. Good for him.

I'm not standing on any hill. I'm standing in the valley and waiting for more information before I climb any hill. Coming to a conclusion before getting all the information seems to be more of a dunce camp move to me. I'm not defending anyone, I'm just not going to judge either player based on a 5 second video.
What conclusion did I erroneously come to? That trying to fight someone after a sporting event is f-ing stupid every single time? Because it is. There's no two sides of that argument. The Indiana player may be a jack wagon in his own right but attempting to fight is flat out dumb.

Just wait for all the information before coming to a conclusion. You might feel different about what happened. But then again, you've already come to a conclusion, so stick with it. Honestly, why wait, waiting for all the information is for idiots, right.

Have you even read any of my replies? What conclusion have I come to that needs more information? Fighting someone (or trying to) after a sporting event, or during, is brain dead moronic behavior. Trying to justify that is the idiotic thing.

There's an old truism to football- the player who throws the cheap (unseen) shot doesn't get flagged. The offended player who justifiably reacts does get caught, and costs his team 15 yards.

After the game though? That is low-class. The Cane should have to sit out a game.

Sure, stick with your conclusion. Why make an informed decision.

Like I've said, repeatedly, there is no justification for trying to fist fight someone in an athletic event. People say nasty **** every day everywhere but punching someone because you get angry isn't the "informed decision" you're trying to find. It's not even a conclusion I'm making, it's a beginning belief. Carry on.

Imagine that, there's more context.
C'mon, man. For someone preaching how important information is, you should at least know to take random Tweets with a grain of salt. You can't just expect everyone to swallow some random Tweet as legitimate. An account called "MiamiSportsHQ" certainly has an agenda, and protecting a local athlete is part of it, including possibly making up some baseless sh*t as a smokescreen.

I'm not arguing that having all the facts is important, but I'll also add that I can't remember the last time that an athlete threw a punch at an opponent after a loss was a victim, either. He's usually just exactly what you would expect - a hot-head and a sore loser.

I think you nailed it on the head aa he was most likely provoked by Tucker from Indy … we need to start putting these 2 year wonders back where they belong starting next year … this magic won’t last forever with Indiana
Well one thing is for sure, IU has an undefeated national championship. Iowa still looking for one.

As long as they keep getting $60 million a year or more to buy players it will.

I believe I said in another post that I was still waiting on more info to make my judgement.

At least we've established you're ok with fighting in sports. Thanks for being impartial.

I'm bowing out of this conversation so feel free to add whatever you'd like. It's been something. Have a good evening.
