Lol..I plowed another 3 inches off the driveway at noon and it's still coming down right now with the possibility of another 2 inches to remove tonight. So thats 5 under our State chin here in south Hunterdon that your map shows 2".View attachment 1150449
That is not my map! That is NWS Mt Holly’s map - so lol yourself!

Here in Montgomery Township/ Belle Mead, it’s finally filling back in (much later than forecast) and snowing moderately so we’ll see if their new map or their old map proves true.

I really just look at radar once the storm starts as, at that point, I have not found NWS updates to be very accurate…

I think the wording on the map means just the 2nd part of the storm from 1pm to midnight but yeah its a cut overall given that 1-2 inches fell before
Could be but then they shouldn’t really call it “event total” as I’d bet most folks consider it as 1 event today (and 1 yesterday). Definitely significant snow events so overall forecast is OK - I just never trust the actual forecasted amounts anymore!

We have 4 hours of snow but still going to be tough to get over 2 additional inches. This snow nowhere near yesterdays inch an hour dollops

Snow was light for the last 45 minutes, but is finally picking up here and with the sun down now and temps back to 32F (was 33F most of the afternoon with some melting/compaction) we have a new 1/4" of snow. Expecting at least 2" more here and for most in NJ, except far NWNJ. Temps are dropping everywhere, so the coast should also pick up 2" or so.

By the way Thursday wil be a one day warm up of mid 40s so dont pay attention to Numbers declaration. It will also be above freezing on Wednesday and Friday mid 30s and even Monday should reach 33
Not with snow on the ground. Thursday is forecast for upper 30s and is likely the only day more than 1-2F above freezing this week and probably next week.

I agree but you put it out there . A little pre mature and the actual results as of 9am this morning already proved it inaccurate. So perhaps im just laughing at those "experts".

Being in Montgomery i woulc assume you know we're in the middle of who know man land here in central joisey.

Yup I just looked at the radar for the next few hours and it barely shows anything. Wrong again I guess. It’s been a mix of wet snow/snow here on and off lately but nothing sticking
Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions. Soon after this post your radar lit up and I would think you have at least 1" of snow from round 2 by now. Other reports of that in Mercer County.

Let us know when it turns to snow. Looks like now or soon if the p-type radar is correct.
Changeover about 30-60 minutes ago, but was mixed with rain, now it seems to be all snow and it is finally starting to stick to non-grass/dirt surfaces. If the radar is correct, seems we will have snow until 10-11 p.m. Hoping for a coating that will melt away tomorrow in the sun.

Looks like a burst of relatively warm weather for Thursday/Friday.

Burning through more wood with our wood stove than in the last past couple of winters, but we have made more of an effort to keep the stove going.

If you're sticking now, you'll likely get at least 2" and it'll freeze solid tonight and won't melt easily tomorrow with highs around 32-33F. You'll be lucky to hit 40F on Thursday and to get above 32F on Friday.

I said "might not" not "won't." AccuWeather will likely be way wrong on Thursday with snow on the ground; NWS has a high of 38F for you and me and the NWS has no other days above 32F this week.

IDK- NWS says 36 tomorrow and 41 Thurs. "Irregardless" (long-running joke in our office), we get a decent amount of afternoon sun on our driveway, which faces west, and we have had decent melt in colder weather. We shall see.

Interesting post by Tomer Burg- there are many running debates on if AI is "better" than human intelligence and whether jobs will be replaced by AI tools.

Paved surfaces are totally different. In the sun and even at 32F you'll get melting, especially if you create some cleared exposed blacktop areas - melting will radiate from those...

Yeah- exactly. Blacktop is a huge thermal mass and heat sink. When we have around an inch of snow or less, we sometimes clear a few stripes and let the sun take care of the rest.

It started sticking to cars shortly after that post. Took a while to stick to pavement. Got about 1/2” since then

Yes, even 33 tomorrow will be enough to clear up streets and sidewalks. Granted they still need to be treated and cleared but we’re not going to experience a flash freeze and deep freeze like what was it, 93 or 94? 😂

Tomorrow will be 33 and with sun people can dig out and melt off. Its Monday night in single digits and Tuesday in low 20s when deep freeze catches us

Next weekend looks frigid with highs possibly in upper teens and highs the week after stuck in the 20s

As of 7:00 pm snowing moderately to almost heavily, up to 1.5" in round 2 (0.5" last hour) and 3.2" overall (my house forecast 36 hours ago was 3.1") and looking at the radar, I think 4" is within reach. Still 31F.

You're creating a panic. It will not freeze solid overnight. The only way it will become hard to clear if people walk on the driveway or sidewalks and it gets matted down. I've dealt with snow removal more than you have stealing t shirts from kids at RU games and that's alot. BTW.... last game I saw you waving at the cheerleaders and I guess she felt sorry for you. LOL

yes sir. But originally set to stop around 4, then 6, now 9. It's still coming down strong 5 mins in from the PA line,, but almost there. Definitely another 3 inch plow in the morning. 3 in 3 days. Been fun to deal.

This is a double dipper for my customers. 2 plows in 2 days. They will hold on paying for dear life.

As of 8:00 pm, still snowing pretty good with 2.2" new snow otg for a total of 3.9" today. Snow looks like it'll end soon, but I think we'll eke out at least another 0.1-0.2" to get to 4". Still 31F.

Just shoveled what was out there and cleaned off the work truck. Won't feel like doing it at 5am. Probably 1.5", the snow is heavy so some compaction goes with that.
