Looks like the first scheduled flight out of State College Regional is at 6:00AM. My wild speculation is someone showed up for check in and did or said something stupid which started a chain of events. Again, just my speculation.

James Franklin showed up and told airport officials that unless they increased the runway length that he would not schedule and home-and-home with PSU. This allegedly cause a ruckus among the people and even deer at the airport that the cops were called.

I was thinking the same. As a teacher, I know how these things go especially if someone has something in their backpack at the metal detectors. Ugh. Better safe than sorry.

There were internet reports of a suspicious package, but none of that’s been confirmed. Suspicious package could mean anything.
