I think you might have been talking about me. I was just krup on the other board and the Rangers thread was something I would post on fairly often.
Yes, definitely you. The krup who lives in Maine. So now we have 2 krups around here? On3 is confusing as hell.

It mind boggling what Drury did to this team while still having the full support of management.

The bottom six on offense and bottom pair on defense are very weak, as is our prospect pool. What he got back in recent trades shows very poor judgement.

Pretty embarrassing attempt by whoever put that graphic together. First, for apparently being unaware that Andy Bathgate existed and second, for not knowing what Rod Gilbert looked like and using a picture of a Welsh comedian called Rohd Gilbert.

It is going to be one of those seasons. Close game until the end. Final score looks like a blow out, but 3 late goals gives off those good vibes. IS great tonight.

They started strong, but the middle of the game was pretty ugly.

it’s not a good sign how much they are depending on Igor to save them already.

Until Mika is cut or benched, hard to take this team seriously. He is charmin soft.

3 home games…zero goals.

2 road games…10 goals.

I don’t hate the way we’re playing. Defense pretty solid and generating power plays and decent looks. Puck just ain’t going in the net.

Not playing badly at all…just can’t score lol
You can see the impact of better coaching in the fact the defense is giving up fewer chances.

You can see the impact of Drury as GM for years in that we have Conor Sheary who no other team wanted to sign for the minimum contract on our second line.

Bathgate belongs in there.

The letter 2.0. I don’t trust Drury, and I don’t trust Dolan. What a disaster.

Only Dolan could see the trajectory the Rangers have been on since he put Drury in charge and think he is the guy who should be handling this retool.

No doubt Zibanejad plays way too soft, and I hate his contract, but he might be playing the best out of all of their high priced older players this year
You can't win by being soft. Trade him or waive him. He needs to be gone ASAP.

If he agreed to waive his NMC I have no problem with trading him because he would have a lot of interest. A team that isn’t soft everywhere like the Rangers can afford to take on Zibanejad for his production and play on specials.

He can’t really be waived, with the NMC and structure of his contract a buyout doesn’t save anything.

Plus, the guy they can trade because he only has a 12 team no trade list, and who would have value on the market, is Trocheck and they would need Zibanejad just because he is a center.

Waiving isn't about saving money. It's about addition by subtraction. The team is better without him.

Rangers can’t get out of their own way !

In 2 consecutive years - they had first and second picks in draft and whiffed big time with Lafrieniwee and Kakko.

The above set the franchise back many years !

This is true, but every other GM in the league would have made the same picks at the time. Question is….what happened in the NYR organization with these guys? Is it them, or is it us?

That’s just ridiculous.

One of the big reasons skilled young forwards don’t develop correctly on the Rangers is that they don’t get a chance to play with skilled veterans both at 5v5 and on the power play like they do on other teams.

Look at how Perreault is more noticeable in the few games since they moved him up with Zibanejad and Miller.

You want them to waive Zibanejad so Perreault can go back to playing on a line with Raddysh and Brodzinski?

It was talked about a lot before in the few years after, but has kind of faded into the past, but it cannot be overstated how much the Lias Anderson pick set the franchise back.

Unlike the Laf and Kakko picks where the Rangers were pretty much unlucky, we know how good the 2017 draft ended up being.

Think about how much effort and draft picks they traded away in the years since trying to beef up Center and Right Wing, then realize the Rangers could have had Martin Necas, Robert Thomas, Josh Norris, or Nick Suzuki the whole time. Other players like Middlestadt, Geekie, Frost, Tolvanen. Drake Batherson and Jason Robertson went after the first round in that draft.

We could have an additional really good player for the last 5 years, PLUS our prospect pool would be a lot better for not making so many trades where we give away picks.

It happened when the rebuild started, and really was the single biggest reason it didn’t work.

Great idea! Mika can teach the young players how to be soft and lose.
