In the state championship win over Brevard, Broadway had the best performance I have ever seen for a Reidsville
QB in the championship game.
And I have seen all of the Reidsville championship teams beginning in 1950.

He completed 10 of 11 passes for 284 yds, 4 TDs, 0 ints.

His QB efficiency rating was an amazing 427.8 - unheard off numbers.

And he did it all in the first half before the running clock.

Plus lots of returning offensive and defense linemen. And Paul Cauthen at WR. Loaded again.
Honest question: Did the Cauthen kids family relocate to the Reidsville area? If not, how do you bank on these kids staying beyond 1 year? He has a good chance of a state championship this year but if that drops off next year in basketball, what keeps these kids around since there isn’t a reason to be loyal to the community?

Also, I get Reidsville’s culture is a draw but as I’ve said before the mountains do not have the transfer situation near like other areas, so I don’t know how you rely on somebody to stay.

He is eligible to play basketball, so Central Office sees it as a bonafide move. I dont see a sophomore moving that far without his parents, so no reason to think it isnt legit. But, there have been kids move and live with other family or the like before.

Ok, thanks. I was just wondering and if they moved great, none of the rest matters. Some of the transfer stuff, not specifically Reidsville, is just crazy and you wonder where the kids will be year to year.

Yep, not many glaring holes for next season. I’d probably say we need to develop someone beside zaylin Hampton in the middle and a defeeive end on the other side of Pruitt are probably the immediate needs.

They did relocate to Reidsville. Your other questions I can’t answer. I do not know the family.

All i know that Paul Cauthen played his last football at Statesville vs North Iredell last week of the regular season. After that the family moved to Reidsville. A loss for Statesville and big gain for Reidsville

Seen where Reidsville plays Reagan Monday. I went to the West Stokes Reagan game last night and they have pretty decent team. They beat West by four points but led by ten most of the game. They pressed whole game but probably want against Neal.

Shelby’s Lan Farmer in a 84-41 win, Farmer threw for 459 yards and tied NCHSAA playoff record of 8 passing touchdowns, adding 2 rushing TDs, setting new marks for sheer offensive output.

Did you see that performance, mule?

He said for a “reidsville qb”.

We know he did.
And Broadway played great. Noteworthy.
So, he starts a thread on it.

Meanwhile, Shelby’s Farmer puts on perhaps the greatest performance of a NC quarterback ever in a championship game.

mule knows what he is doing
So do we

mule, who would have won last week if Broadway and team played Farmer and team?

Reidsville’s defense was much better than Kingston’s. And Shelby’s defense was much better than Brevards. Comparing apples to oranges.

Let’s address this carefully—since we’re apparently explaining things slowly now.
Yes, Reidsville High School would have beaten Shelby High School. That tends to happen when the most successful football program in North Carolina history understands something as basic—and inconvenient—as pass defense. Reidsville doesn’t allow receivers to take scenic tours downfield without coverage, nor does it permit quarterbacks to stand around thinking, “Well, that guy’s only ten yards open… might as well let one fly.”
That style may work occasionally. It just doesn’t work against teams that know how to cover grass.
As for the continued hand-wringing over Neal and Harrison not playing in the Shrine Bowl—let’s not pretend this is about “honor.” The Shrine Bowl is an honor, and everyone knows it. But when you’re still playing meaningful football, the parade can wait. Championships first. Photo ops later.
And just so the record stays straight: Harrison didn’t skip postseason recognition because he lacked interest—he left for Oregon to begin pursuing the same respect and success he earned in North Carolina, only now on a national stage. That’s not avoidance. That’s advancement.
So yes, trophies count. Defense matters. And if you can’t pass the leader while the leader takes a nap…
well, the leader’s still the leader.
Carry on.

Farmer should have played some defense.

What is that supposed to mean?
Farmer was responsible for 70 points.
He has nothing to prove on defense.

Who are you?
Are you a Reidsville fan?

Oh yea. West Craven
Figures…
West Craven would beat you too! Ruined your Christmas!

If you want a good chuckle look at tackling stats for the Rams. Whoever tallies their tackles must give tackle credits to everyone on the field. Three guys with 120+ tackles is a little.... Much? Lol

Reidsville Defensively in football will be dominant…Paul Cauthen is a nightmare on both sides. Kadence Pruitt will be back, Zay Hampton, Josiah, Plenty of talent. Kadence will play TE some, shoud be big news at WR! Danville GW, Magna Vista , BY, hearing good kids from those programs want to come down and play for a title. NW Guilford, too! Interesting news! We will be loaded! Reidsville Shelby back 2 Back!

Doesn’t surprise me that kids want to come there. Win with your own talent and best your chest. Hard to brag when you have talent coming in from other schools and you want to brag. Not hard to coach that. Win with homegrown kids and then brag about winning games.

Most teams have at least one or more transfers

I understand that and it’s sad but you don’t see other teams bragging about who’s coming and where from.

Legally locating isnt the issue many have, it's the influence and means behind the scenes that most have issue with. Ive definitely heard people question how guys from halfway across the state end up in Reidsville, when there are "bigger" schools like Grimsley, Northern, Dudley et al they could attend. Ive heard one family moved to get closer to work, but works in the county they left.

I do think you’d hear people say this. My counter argument would be simply we are a blue blood, although at a smaller school. Then some playing time may not be available at those schools, also recently we’ve had an attraction of Dre and Dionte as well

PT plays a big part for sure.

My counter devils advocate question would be: how do they know before hand what their playing time would be?

Blue blood or not, doesn’t make it right. Poor kids think they won’t get playing time. I hate for someone to work hard to get something want. It’s killing college sports and now high school sports as well. It’s not just football.

Sports in general is out of control especially NCAA sports. Did we all really believe it would not have a trickle down effect? Yes, we all knew it would and I totally agree, it’s out of control, but very much expected. But hey the schools didn’t make the rules, same rules for everyone.
