Good for him.
Now, what kind of schedule do they play ? Who have they beaten ?
While it's hard to be 17-0 regardless of schedule, they don't have a single game against the P4 or Big East on their schedule. RU probably would be 15-2 with this schedule just because we'd have two WTF losses.

Good for him, maybe he would have developed into a good player if he stayed. maybe the level of competition he's facing now helps him look good .
Could be if he was playing for RU now he'd have trouble looking good.

Averaging 10 and 5 in 20mpg -- shooting very efficiently at 64% including 9-19 from 3. Still too many TO's for a big guy, and it is not Big 10, but overall, I would take him in a heartbeat.

Same stories as Simpson and GG, they are contributing at a lower level.

More evidence of this staffs underwhelming recruiting that stopped the follow up success of McConnell, RHJ, and Cliffy years

I’ve gotta give Pike a pass on Jaden and GG - both were clearly highly regarded coming out of high school and they would have been busts anywhere.

But agree with you, it’s time to level up.

you dont just give passes when more than half his rosters of the years were full of misses and level of talent on this team like EO and J Mike and last year with JWill and a ton of not good enough players, he has been a subpar recruiter who enjoyed great success with one tight knit class in an era that is over

example 469 why we need to keep these frosh and let them develop here...

Example of 469 that Pike isn't actually hurt by this "transfer" environment.

Woolf and Simpson didnt get "poached".
They both transfered down.
Presumably because Pike told them their role would be reduced.

So many people say "Pike needs his guys for years to develop. He's not cut out for this constant transfer world."

All his recruits have transfered out and down because they were presumably pushed out.
This isn't Cam Spencer getting poached by a better team.

as Bac mentions above, there have been just too many misses in the 3/4 year period.

What are these coaches (including Pike) are doing out there to miss that badly, including the transfers/portal.

that said, this years class Powers, Mark, Nwuli has some strong potential and Buchanon and Francis were worthwhile portals.

With you up until the last sentence. Cam didn't get poached by a better team. He left for a bag. He reportedly was prepared to sign with Georgetown, until the UConn offer fell into his lap.

And at least part of the reason kids leave is that they don't respect Pike, and they're being told that they can improve more someplace else.

Three games ago most here thought Buchanon sucked.

So Miami Ohio beat Maine by over 30. We beat Maine by 12.

Wonder if AI marks the case that it’s all about money! Yeah, Miami Ohio must have more money than we do

Based on his play. Did you watch any of those earlier games ? Did you think his play in them didn't suck ?
I saw the potential given more minutes. Thought he should have been starting from day 1. He would have shown what he's shown the last few games sooner. It took Pike 4 months to figure out he might offer more than Badalou - one of the reasons Pike s&chs.

Being better than Badalou doesn't mean that he didn't suck.

While none would have been standouts, I think all three of Woolfolk, Simpson, and Somerville were developmental players (term of the past?) who ould have contributed to our roster. While Simpson was asked to do more than he was ready for, all three had skills and a better understanding of how to operate on the offensive end than almost the entirety of our lineup, Given the team's current level, their defense would not have caused a dropoff.

Even given their youth, all had some excellent games for RU.

They transferred down for early PT. Unfortunately no one wants to wait a few years to develop and play just their junior and senior years anymore. Both would have played here the last two years.

Miami (OH) is now one of only three D1 undefeated men's basketball teams. Arizona and Nebraska are the others.

Major college D1 scholarship two year ago. Has already averaged 15 ppg. for a D1 team. OK defender. Big 10 body. Enough for me, especially with our talent. And after three months being with the team Pike seemed to prefer Badalou over him. C'mon, give me a break.

With another win today Miami is knocking on the top 25 door. Started the day more than 100 spots ahead of RU in NET rankings and the gap will be larger tomorrow.

Wolfy is now on a top 25 team

Looked at his stats, had to do a double take, he's 10/23 ( 43%) behind the arc

still can't shoot ft's 25/42 59%

he would have been an asset for RU this year with his 6'9" 245 size

Letting him go without even picking up a replacement center is near the top of the list of mistakes we’ve made in portal recruiting.
