Td Oregon!
Sorry, as much as lanning is a punk, still am too jealous of IU new-found fb success and their mob of fair-weather fans who have come outta the woodwork.

Can't stomach cignettis arrogance and we do compete with IU for football recruits..screw' em.
Having a close family member in law enforcement who works on the field during iowa home games says he has interacted with dozens of head coaches. Biggest a hole was Cignetti this year. Said the guy was so unbelievably arrogant and treated people like crap. Nicest by far over the years was Matt Campbell. Said the guy interacts with everyone and treated all u of I people great. Family member also dislikes Iowa State so was so surprised he said that. Said Bielema was a pretty nice guy too

I just hope everyone realizes when and if Indiana wins the natty, Iowa gets pushed down further the proverbial totem pole. An elite Indiana only makes things harder for our program.

But keep cheering for them I guess.
You're a f****** dumbass they were a hurt quarterback away from beating Indiana this year and that's their best team ever

And he’s built a program that’s basically perfect in every phase.

They have one of top OL in country
They run the ball
Extremely accurate QB who’s all time gamer
Big play WR

Stout DL
LB
CB

Stop run. Rush passer. Get turnovers.

And here at Iowa we’re laughed at cause of our offense but we’re hard nose blue collar!
Hey now...c'mon. Can't even compare their situation to Iowa's. After all, just think of all the recruiting advantages they have with the mountains and beaches and hundreds of 5-stars in Indiana. And that's not to mention the long history of high-level success the second-losingest program of all time has at its disposal to sell to recruits. And don't even get Doodle started on their world-class facilities, legendary stadium, and decades of sell-outs by their rabid fanbase. Stuff Iowa could only dream of.

Wow!! Indiana only has 8 recruits that are 4 or 5 stars? How is that possible? Cignetti is that good of a coach, eh? Impressive. Just a beat down

IU losing tonight, or a week from Monday, is gonna make people pump Iowa's NIL flush with millions of dollars????

That's the ONLY way that Iowa will climb this proverbial totem pole.

Nothing but money truly matters anymore, in terms of getting the talent on your roster to win big and play for championships. When it comes to being a "student athlete", if you can't make your $$$ where you are at currently, jump in the portal and go make bank with those who can rent your services.

Cignetti won't be at Indiana for long.
NFL? SEC? I think he turned down Penn State. Just curious where you think he would go. Where does his new contract put him with highest paid coaches? Top 3?
I was wondering if the Raiders wanted to look into him as head coach with number 1 pick probably taking Mendoza.

That is not correct. Indiana is doing this with the same kind of players we have, not 5 stars. If nothing else, it shows us how close we are. Just need a few playmakers with chips on their shoulders like Sarrat and Mendoza, not 5 star prima donas

35-7 IU, halftime.

If the fat lady isn't already warbling, she's definitely in the final warm up stages.

WSJ had an article today and cignetti was the focus.
He has a great eye for talent.
He puts a lot of emphasis on body types and specifically flexibility in hips, knees and ankles which allow for greater explosiveness and power.
He spots guys that have it and then they program training to promote it.
He has never coached a 5 star.

I know this is sarcasm and get it…

Thing is, Kirk did come close to doing this when he took over. Look at his staff….winners. Could make comparisons to Fry’s staff early on.

And Kirk hit the JUCOs a lot back then and got a lot of very good skill players.

Iowa and Kirk used to have an attitude and fire to them in those 2001-2004 years. Little bit of it came back in 2008-2010….but Kirk started going into a shell and recruiting ******* died off on offense

Now, Kirk is so stubborn he believes a 12-9 phone booth fight is THE only way football can be played.

Yes, Iowa hung with IU and OR….Iowa is king of moral victories

gotta win them at some point, but it’s always next year

Whether we cheer for them, has no bearing on what is happening. It’s happening.

I will cheer for a team with 8 4-5 stars whooping the *** of a team with 50 of them any day.

Everything I said was a fact. Cope and seethe, fuckboy.

This is a losers mentality. Iowa was one play away from beating both of these teams this year.
It absolutely is not. It's looking at the current situation from a realistic standpoint. The more Indiana wins, the better they look for recruits and transfer prospects. Once they win a national championship, they will absolutely be considered a better program than us; up there with the likes of Ohio State.

Do you think that would change if Indiana lost tonight?
Possibly, and it certainly wouldn't hurt. If they win a natty, it's all cemented. Which just makes things harder for us.

If that were the case, we would've been more successful in the transfer portal. We've lost out to programs who definitely have less money than we do. Transfers want both money AND a place where they can develop/have the best chance to get drafted. Iowa can only offer money, and that only goes so far.

That is not correct. Indiana is doing this with the same kind of players we have, not 5 stars. If nothing else, it shows us how close we are. Just need a few playmakers with chips on their shoulders like Sarrat and Mendoza, not 5 star prima donas
I simply don't believe that. The guys Indiana has are head and shoulders better than what we have, especially on offense. Defense, sure, I see them being similar. But if we were that close to the same talent as Indiana, we would've crushed everyone we played this year.

$2.5M QB they hit a grand slam on.

Mendoza's NFL rookie cards will probably have a 5 figure price tag to start off.

Iowa is right there. Need Heck to play a tick above Mark in the passing game, and Iowa is a playoff team. I truly believe that.

Talk about pouring a gallon of salt in a gaping wound ...... Oregon attemps a 56-yd FG to end the half, being down 28, and barely getting it into the EZ.

You really think Iowa can only offer money, and not coaching where transfers can develop/have a better chance of being drafted? What do you think Iowa bases its whole program on?

Of course not, this is specifically talking about the offensive side of the ball. We have a horrendous track record of developing skill positions, specifically QB and WR. Those are what we need to compete at the next level. It's also the reason why we always miss with QBs and WRs in the portal.

Sarrat had no D1 offers. Mendoza only had 2…Yale and Cal. Hemby was a Maryland castoff.

We can do what they’re doing. Hell, we damn near did at Kinnick.

Next year with Heck, hopefully healthy and with a year of learning the system under his belt, will be very telling one way or the other
