Reverting back to rugbyTheir offensive line does a really nice job of pushing RB after he gets he held up. I always see them turn 2-3 yard runs into 4-5 yard runs by simply pushing pile. I'd like to see us copy that a bit more.
Iowa's line was home grown where both Oregon and Indiana brought in three starters via the portal. In addition both Oregon and Indiana had much better passing games so teams couldn't stack the line of scrimmage against the run yet we still had good rushing numbers.Honestly, I think they and Oregon had a better OLine than we did. Still surprised they won the Joe Moore award.
I hate that rule change. Aiding the runner in any way should be illegal, as it was until recently. But as long as it's legal, sure, take advantage of it.Their offensive line does a really nice job of pushing RB after he gets he held up. I think 250+ people are involved in the selection process. My understanding is the voters are O-line experts who review and grade film. Iowa had the best center in the nation, at least if you can believe the people who choose the Rimington Award winner, and a couple of other All-Americans. Oregon and Indiana have outstanding O lines, no doubt. Apparently Iowa graded out best. That's all I know.Honestly, I think they and Oregon had a better OLine than we did. Still surprised they won the Joe Moore award.
