TE is STACKED for next year - this guy is going to be the next AA TE aa we are Tight End U
Well Vonnahme is for damn sure on that trajectory. He's a redshirt freshman to boot.I don't see any of them being an AA but certainly nice pieces that can be drafted.
I didn’t see it either at first, didn’t think he was as athletic as some of the other studs but he’s really blossomed since the second half of the Oregon game. Seems to have his confidence exploding.Well Vonnahme is for damn sure on that trajectory. He's a redshirt freshman to boot.
The kid was Iowa's leading receiver, and came out of nowhere in the 2nd half of the season. Putting up 146 and TD in the Bowl Game.
That wasn't luck, the kid appears to have "it", and he's got time to prove it. He made himself a lot of money in the last 6 games or so.
Sadly, if he didn't have an Agent before the Bowl, he damn sure does now. $$$
Well unfortunately I'm never optimistic about the Offense anymore, but I hope you're right.I didn’t see it either at first, didn’t think he was as athletic as some of the other studs but he’s really blossomed since the second half of the Oregon game. Seems to have his confidence exploding.
Im optimistic the offense will be even better next year but it really depends on filling out the Oline. I just have a feeling Hecklinski is going surprise us all in a good way for a change ha
based on what? DJ just had a 434 yard season, to put that into perspective, Eli Stowers the 1st team AA this year had 769. If you want to complain about QB play that's fine, but this comment is laughable.I don't see any of them being an AA but certainly nice pieces that can be drafted.
I think stacked is under selling it. If we don't run a formation with two TE's standing straight up to pay homage to Hayden Fry, Marv Cook and Scott Slutzker I will be sad.....that is until Tim Lester uses his sorcery and DJ scores a 90 yard TD. Then I will not be sad any more.

Nothing is guaranteed, but where do you see DJV having deficits that would warrant that level of skepticism?I don't see any of them being an AA but certainly nice pieces that can be drafted.

Think about his production the latter half of the year? If he continues at this pace he will be an AA… he might be the best TE next year in the BT… we aren’t TE U for no reason so I beg to differI'm not sure why everyone is after me for saying that I don't think he will be an AA but he will be drafted. That is a very, very high bar. Just in watching Sadiq right now at Oregon or the TE from Vandy and I just don't think he is quite at that level. He is only a freshman so he has time to get better, for sure.
Also, until late in the season, the TE's were not primary targets. Last year we had Lachey and he was hardly targeted. He had a ton of promise early on but never seemed to get to the level we all hoped. Yes, injuries did not help.
Finally, I am excited for Hecklinski or Brown but I just want to see more consistency from this position. We don't sling it around as much as other teams do.
I’m not trying to get on your case, I am just curious what you think his deficits are that would limit his potential from reaching that level.I'm not sure why everyone is after me for saying that I don't think he will be an AA but he will be drafted. Lachey appears to be on the Texans practice squad, so good for him. Aside from his injury, I did feel Iowa didn't utilize him the way they should have when he came back, so at least to me that's more on Iowa than it was Lachey. Hopefully he can get his shot and stick on a NFL 2-deep roster.I'm not sure why everyone is after me for saying that I don't think he will be an AA but he will be drafted.
