The Hawks looked like the space jam aliens took their talent half the game. I hate Minnesota…Don’t lose to that clown team in any sport!

Now that the game is over and the three retards from the UCLA game thread can't police us anymore; this was a dogshit game by Iowa, in nearly every respect. Dead on offense, hot and cold on defense, and Bennett played his worst game of his career. Didn't help that the refs were homecooking all game.

Hausen clearly made an impact on both ends of the floor when he was in, despite the cry babies who complain about anyone who mutters his name.

Easily the worst game of the BMC era so far. Nothing went right, but even still, we made a game until the very last second. That makes it frustrating because Minnesota isn't a good team. The guys better stop giving up on open shots and figure something out, or Illinois will embarrass us this weekend.

That no-show offensively from Stirtz, Folgueiras, Banks and Manyawu in the first half really was the game for Iowa.

Did Folgueiras even score 1 point tonight??
The start was brutal. The weird thing is that it looked like the MSU gameplan that got shelved and should never again have seen the light of day.

We have to accept that Hawks are a bubble team and it’s gonna be a dog fight
Agreed. We are going up against four star guards and bigs every night. It is going to be a long season. I actually think this is good for Ben. Struggling at this level will force him to learn what it really takes to succeed here. That growth only comes through reps like this. My only concern is whether Iowa is willing to open the wallet to make sure we have the right pieces around him.

Ok, but all those 4 guys had ZERO points in the first half and Iowa had less than 25 total after 20 minutes.
Stirtz was in foul trouble and never really got it going in first half. The refs took him out of the first half JMO

Alvaro was a total no show as well. Dude just seems to turn into a ghost in some games.

I think we're going to have to temper expectations for this team, despite the encouraging start. Howard, Sage, Koch are all really promising young guys that will be important pieces in the future.

That's the only concern for everybody.

Ben McCollum obviously has the Xs & Os part down. You don't have his overall winning % and national titles without that. To succeed anywhere near that much at the level he's at now, its going to take talent, length & athleticism to get Iowa there.

Which, obviously, means money for NIL.

Did you not watch the MSU game?

Did you not see Hausen get picked on nearly half a dozen times on the defensive end tonight?

Iowa has to come out razor sharp and play forty minutes or it will be a very long season. They do not have the horses to play one half and win. Fulger.... has to get his **** together and quit trying to play globetrotter BBall and just make the plays.

Last three shots:

Bomb from BS not a horrible look but a very tough shot he had to take.

2nd shot from hausen was a contested shot but makeable shot for him..just spun out.

Great patience by BS on last shot...great look that he makes 60-70 %..,..he never really got his shooting rythm tonite but usually he will make it.

Brutal near-miss that is the 1st bad loss of season...ouch.

I think Ben is going to ask him do you want to play here?

Stirtz needs a good 1st half going forward to set the tone to much letting others be involved
