He’s a safety. He ain’t getting QB money. Maybe $100k more than Iowa offered which, after taxes and agent fee, might be an extra $50k. There’s something more here.

Hooker was better than Stone and Belton but I’d guess Entringer would be comparable to them next year. He was honorable mention all Big Ten with the coaches last year.

I really don’t understand if it’s coping or just acceptance that it finally hit us but this is a big loss. Go look at the list of Big Ten honorable mention guys and tell me we wouldn’t be ecstatic to have most of them coming to Iowa in the portal.
This might be the worst thing that's ever happened on January 6.
Clearly we want him to stay, but I don't blame him if he can go make significantly more money with the one year of eligibility he has left. Maybe he sticks in the NFL, maybe he doesn't, so now is the time for him to max his is income. If Iowa is going to overpay it needs to be for some stud interior linemen, not a safety.
