Man no one is playing defense. People with wide and I mean wide open shots on both teams. They are just walking around on defense, weird
It was a really bad game plan by Jan in my opinion
You have some really athletic bigs and you failed to utilize their biggest asset, which is their speed and quickness
I don’t trust that the Hilton refs will allow Iowa State to lose
Baylor with the lead gonna double Crooks and allow others to knock down shots.
Problem with that is they still need to match points on the other end. You can leave shooters open with the lead if you're trading baskets.

Crooks had only 4 points the second half and only two shot attempts the 4th quarter. Baylor wised up and double teamed her the second half. Why more teams, including Iowa, don't double team her is a real mystery.
Cit Chat did not play.
Yes Chit Chat did play and was Iowa top scorer.
Ava only played 16 minutes with fouls and Hannah was 5-14 from the field and 0-2 from the line. Iowa's front court was outscored 55-25.
We did not effectively deal with Crooks. Can't let a 35 pt/game player get 35 pts. State's other players are not that 'consistently good' to be a Top 15 team.
Didn’t see the game but when you’ve got a girl like Crooks why would every team not do what Baylor did? She’s not a great passer or quick decision maker, so why not box and 1 her or just double her every possession and force someone else to beat you? Plus by putting Heiden on her 1 v1 you’re taking the chance of her getting in foul trouble which of course she did.
ISU played poorly in every phase of the game yesterday, and didn't deserve to win, but one comment I keep hearing that I'd like to address is doubling Crooks. That usually won't work because ISU has several good outside shooters. Yesterday they couldn't throw the ball into the ocean.
I understand but I still wouldn’t let her go get 30 every game. 1 on 1 she’s the most unstoppable player in women’s bball with her strength. The rest of the team is solid but not great. Just my opinion.
Don't need to play the perfect defense, just keep switching defenses (including double teaming Crooks) to keep ISU off-balance. We let Crooks, et al., get awfully comfortable.
She shoots 70% from the field. I would force somebody else to beat me.
Yup, Addy Brown did not have a good game and I believe she is a really good player.
I certainly was wrong. Maybe I was thinking of Emily but she had already missed a game or so. My bad.
If you double Crooks which I thought Iowa should have done, you do need to know where Brown is.
"Strength"? That's hilarious. Crooks only "talent" is being literally as big as a Story County barn. She's about as strong and athletic as a boulder. "Most unstoppable player in women's basketball"? LOL
Standing under the basket and shooting layups doesn't make you a basketball player. It's about the same as your dad playing you one-on-one in the driveway when you're eight. Being bigger than everyone else doesn't make you better, just bigger.
Seventy percent on layups. ISU can have her. I hope Iowa plays ISU again in the tourney.

So we can guard her with 1 person again? Why would the outcome be different? I think we’re a little better team on a neutral court but if we play her straight up again she would get her 30. It’s ridiculous to say she only scores on layups. Of course she does. Did Shaq take a lot of jumpers? Doesn’t matter where a player scores from.
Because the few that outweigh most posts by 40+ lbs….don’t know how to effectively use their massive girth.

Crooks travels and uses her weight to get the advantage. She should foul out most games.
