If Iowa's goals are to finish in the upper portion of the conference standings and want to feel 'safe' about their inclusion to the Big Dance in March, then yes, this is absolutely a "must win".

I know what I said seems a bit overboard, considering a new coach & team this season, but the NCAAT committee doesn't provide sympathy invites.

Yes. Have to win at home, especially against teams that are lower than you. UCLA is a Quad 2 opponent right now at #42, and they do have a Quad 1 win. Being a Quad 2 opponent has the possibility of becoming a Quad 1 later. Need to win at home for sure.

It's a must win if they want to start attracting fans back to men's basketball. Nobody cares that they beat the Sisters of Sant Mary. They need to start racking up some quality wins in front of the home crowd. Do that and they'll return.

A team can get a bid without a Quad 1, but that team has to have no bad losses to lower Quad teams, and margin of victory is important as well.

UCLA is coming off a 10 day break - their last game was 2 days before Christmas. We need to take advantage early and often of any UCLA rustyness!

Dent is 2 of 20 from arc and 65% from line..also 38%from field...let him shoot.
The rest of rotation shoots about 35% from the arc so no open looks
Booker is big.
