This Iowa team would beat Alabama

Theoretically and hypothetically Iowa could and can beat everyone this season. We should have beaten this Indiana team, who I think is the best team in the country along with Georgia. This is what's so maddening about us and this season specifically.
Big part of that is Grono shoulder healing and team gelling around Grono leadership. This team at the end of the year does not resemble the team at the beginning of the year. We peaked at the right time. Too bad it’s not a 16-24 team field. We’d be a tough out right now

It is what it is. I'm just glad that Iowa has a functional offense again. That shat had gotten really freaking old, regardless of what that dumb azz eyes says.

He should be counted as a back as he is at least 1 yard off the line so the defender won't blow by him.I watch him to see if we lost anything when he decommitted the second time from Iowa. He would have been a good backup.

Agreed. The OL doesn't win the Joe Moore Award with Proctor un the lineup.

Some of you guys are hilarious.

Iowa could beat this Bama team, but to believe Iowa would just steamroll through them is silly. This is the same Bama team that went into Norman and beat OU a week ago. It’s also the same team that beat Georgia in Athens earlier in the season.

Bama’s biggest problem is they can’t run the football. Thus, Bama’s consistency problem.

Regardless, Iowa almost lost to MSU at home before trouncing a mediocre Nebraska team. After the MSU game, the general consensus was Iowa could barely punch their way out of a wet paper bag, “same ol’ Kirk,” blah blah blah. But now, because the offense played well against Vanderbilt, Iowa is suddenly national championship contenders? Ha.

Iowa had a good team. The Vanderbilt win was the culmination of a lot of hard work and team camaraderie. But let’s be real here. Iowa’s secondary would have gotten lit up by a lot of teams in the CFP and the LBs would have continued to struggle. I like the trajectory of Iowa’s program right now, but let’s not get carried away here. Lol.

You seem to be overlooking the fact that the sec just isn’t very good this year. i dont think our defense gets lit up by a lot of the teams in the playoffs, like who ? Indiana and Oregon are in the final four and they didn’t light up our defense ???????

it’s just the cool thing to say we aren’t very good I guess, loser mentality

Bama can’t run or stop the run. Our O line would knock them off the ball on a regular basis. I don’t think Texas Tech is as good as this team either.
Alabama wouldn't have a chance against this Iowa team. The Hawkeyes would drill them much like Indiana did. Alabama is getting to be like Nebraska . . . hype and history over reality. Bama didn't belong in the CFP, and they proved it again yesterday.

Let's be real. Iowa didn't get blown up by anybody. They were tied with #1 Indiana with 2 minutes to play. They led #5 Oregon with 3 seconds to play. How did the best team money can buy (Texas Tech) do against Oregon? How did Alabama, the Nebraska of the SEC, do against Indiana? LOL

Are you sure about that? Bama beat Vandy by 16.

The SEC is down this year compared to years past, agreed.

I didn’t say Iowa wasn’t good. Just that they aren’t as invincible as some want to think.

Alabama is nowhere close to regressing to Nebraska level mediocrity. Lol. C’mon, man. Yes, they aren’t likely to ever be at the level Nick Saban had them at, especially since everyone can buy players now, but to say they are “the Nebraska of the SEC” is silly.

Maybe some day, but not yet.
