Have a few thoughts on what to do this year.....and hoping to steal other people's ideas ;)

1. Going to Red Rocks in Colorado in June to see Brit Floyd at Red Rocks. Always wanted to go to Red Rocks. Will make it into a M/C trip aw well - rent a MC at Denver Airport and then hit up some good mountain roads in the Rockies.
2. Whenever the PSU/Washington game is scheduled, I am going to go to Seattle for the game. That will leave just Autzen for my Big 10 Road Trips.
3. Planning another M/C trip, probably in August or early Sept to Maine. Will try to get in a round at Sunday River Resort (luckily they rent clubs so I don't have to ship mine).
4. Since I worked through Christmas on a project, will probably look to do some quick trip to Caribbean in late Jan/early Feb.

edit
5. May do a Family Pub Crawl in either NYC or London. Since I have relatives throughout the world either NYC or London would make for a good meeting place for my bougie-*** family. 😏

Whatcha got planned for 2026?

Greece, some time in Athens and a cruise to Crete and the Cyclades. Then tour of Istanbul and vicinity.

Very much looking forward to walking in the footsteps of Socrates, Aristotle, Plato, and Euclid.

I just checked the itinerary. Will visit Troy, so will be walking in the footsteps of Odysseus, Achilles, and Hector as well. I’m sure I’ll be reminded of y’all when I’m there. ;)

Disney Cruise for spring break on the newest ship, the Destiny; Maine in June when the kids get out of school; Hawaii and Nantucket in July (taking nieces who have never been); Myrtle Beach to end the summer. Hoping to get the fam to London or Paris for a long weekend. Teeing up Germany and Japan for 2027.

If I can get in one more trip to ride the Cabot Trail that would suit me

Taking our Class B motor home from Sarasota to my daughter’s home in Livermore, CA. Then from there to drive up the Pacific Coast highway to Oregon. Rest of the trip planning is in progress.

In the fall we are traveling to Italy to do a tour of the medieval towns and villages of Abruzzo. My great grandparents came from that area.

Bunch of sporting events, several music festivals. Have narrowed down our bigger trip to two items, maybe three. Still trying to determine which we want to do most.

Hitting Manchester UK in April to see my boys play at Old Trafford. The wife and my daughter are heading to Japan for her senior year spring break/wife's 50th girls trip which should be a blast for them. During that week I'll be taking the other kids on a camping trip somewhere in the southeast more than likely. Not much planned beyond that other than a summer visit to Austin to see the inlaws.

Saw Eric Church at Red Rocks in July. Great venue. It was hot when the concert started and cold and rainy when it ended. It poured most of the show and almost a foot of water was flooding down the steps when we left. Still glad we went though.

All dependent on what my work situation is for 2026 but what I'd like to do...

Already doing -- college hoops trip next week to Wisconsin/Marquette/Sparty/Michigan
Want to do -- Banff for the 2nd time but stay longer than last time to do a few things I didn't do when I was there in '22. Also cracking the 50 barrier in April and trying to figure out what to do. A round at Pebble would be ideal but I don't think my connections are that good to make it happen.

We have a few things planned for 2026:
  • Going to Nashville to see Ashley McBride play at Cheif's bar in Nashville in a few weeks

  • Going up to the PGA Championship at Aronimink in May
  • Back to Nashville for Alan Jackson's last show in June
  • Our annual trip to PSU in September
  • A weekend in Boone to see my son (App St.) and a weekend in Charleston (College of Charleston) to see my daughter, both in September
  • Some island hopping in November-staying in St. Thomas but planning to hit St. John and Yost Van Dyke

After watching my three kids already become disinterested in the toys from Christmas, my wife and I are going to plan a family trip to Europe instead. Slightly concerned about taking kids 8 and under abroad, but we will see how it goes.

Fingers crossed for Frozen Four in April.

impatiently waiting on B1G scheduling for game vs UDubs. It’d be great to double up a Seahawks game the same weekend, or if early in the season check out an Alaskan cruise. I wouldn’t be opposed to opening the season in Seattle.

Well, based on this safety video I may just fly wherever Philippine Airlines is going.

Totally agree about FF.

Right now as long as no conflict I cannot overcome, will be headed to game @ Washington. Have a friend that is a season tix holder and he has promised me one of his tix. Yes, a double header with Seahawks would be great.

We are starting out the year flying to Santiago Chile in two weeks for a little wine touring and exploring. From Santiago we are flying up to Easter Island for Four days to visit with the Moai Monoliths and contemplate the meaning of everything or nothing then flying back to Santiago. From there, we are flying up to the High Desert of Atacama for some exploring as well.

The rest of the year includes a fly fishing trip to the Rouge River in Southern Oregon and a return trip for the Washington Game.

We may fly over to Tuscany for a week if we can make it work with work schedules and volunteer schedules but nothing locked down yet.

Is that in Western PA?
I think it’s near Oil City, but you would have to ask the self-proclaimed resident message board expert on all things PA. Apparently I know nothing about PA according to him/her/it (I don’t know their proper pronoun). ;-)

Good luck finding a villa in Tuscany. I am pretty sure I got the last one.

Puerto Rico, 2025 did a total of 76 nites on the island and hope to top that in 26.
Hoping to figure out one or two more.
