Odem is a 5 star on one service. So, I'll give him 1.3 five star recruits signed, one of which is gone and might have been more trouble than he was worth. The rest is all hopes and wishes and coulda shouldas. A far cry from "multiple 5 star commits"

Look, he wants to remain positive? Fine. But don't come on here talking sh*t at posters who chose not to. Especially when your big list of how great things are is that load of crap.
Raiola, Odem, Pritchett are 5 star rated athletes acquired by Nebraska and Pittman is certainly trending that way. I said multiple. Which means more than one. The main thing everyone wants is to win. Nebraska had not been to a bowl game since 2016 when Rhule started this. Rhule got Nebraska back to first bowl in 8 years last year. This year Nebraska is playing on New Year’s Eve instead of the Pinstripe bowl. Serious progress is showing. Yes, the Raiola experiment did not turn out like we all hoped. But we needed Raiola to establish credibility and stop the Scott Frost runaway train to becoming Northwestern without the academics. It isn’t ideal right now but if you can’t see that the program is in a much better state than it was 5 years ago then you are willfully ignorant. Indiana hit lightning in a bottle. Judging Nebraska in failing to turn it around as quickly as them is idiotic.

You dug for that but I’ll respect it. Thanks for being civil. Have a good new year!
You as well! I try not to be rude, may not always succeed. We're all fans, we just sometimes see things differently while wanting the same result. Sometimes I just like to nudge people a little to see how they respond. I appreciate your civility and wish you the best as well.

Pritchett
  • On3 - 3 star
  • 24/7 - 4 star
  • Rivals - 4 star
You might not be in a real good spot to call other posters "ignorant" and "idiotic." But, that's generally how gals like you argue once the argument is lost.

So you ignore my point about Nebraska finally getting back to progressively better bowl games, argue further with me about high level recruits when you already conceded that I was correct in my assertion of multiple 5 star recruits have been recruited to Nebraska since Rhule was hired, and then call me a gal and say I already lost the argument. Great post, pal.

You don’t think we were better this year? We had 6 wins and a bowl confirmed before we lost our starting quarterback to a broken leg in a game we were leading with several games to go. Yes we were better this year. No question. Any other stupid comments?

Nope. More wrong takes from Mrs Rhule. I’d think you’d know more about football than this.

And now that QB is transferring because he clearly doesn't believe in this coaching staff anymore.

Also, we had the easiest possible Big Ten schedule this year - no Indiana, Oregon, or Ohio State, and we had Michigan, USC, and Iowa all at home. And we still finished with a losing conference record. Does anyone honestly see us having a winning record next year with a much harder schedule and a new inexperienced QB?

You are seriously going to blame Raiola transferring on Rhule? After all the transfers Raiola had in high school and he committed to 2 other schools before switching to Nebraska at the last minute? Rhule actually got him to stay 2 seasons. There is plenty you can criticize Rhule for but Raiola finishing at Nebraska was never going to happen.

I hate to say it, but we aren't getting elite portal targets. Elite targets want to be on championship winning teams. Matt Rhule will more than likely be looking for another job next year. If he isn't, it's because our pathetic NU administration thinks it's "too expensive".
Not true. Texas Tech wasn't anywhere close to being a championship team. They got ahead of the game and threw a lot of money at the kids, especially along both lines. Kids will come, if the money is right.

The truth is most guys we probably haven't heard of. The real problem is talent identification and projection as of right now Rhule ha shown weakness at.

I think he's rudderless. Came in talking about track times and taking athletes and teaching them football. Then by 2024 he was going after big bodies at wr and moving away from FB. He seems like he doesn't have the answer. He definitely thought he did in 2023 though.

The perfect guy to have run your program.

Thanks, Julie. Just a few thoughts, though...

We have increased our win total in every year under Rhule - You really think a 1 game improvement (possibly not after tonight), with this year's soft schedule is something to celebrate?

Have gotten a lot more media attention - By what measure? I live outside of Nebraska and I haven't felt it much at all. You say "a lot" but I can barely remember the last time I've seen Nebraska mentioned "a lot" on national media. Last time was either when we had a coaching search (much more media attention then) or a little at the beginning of the year until reality sets in and our wheels fly off yet again.

Prime time games on peacock - Lmao I can't even take this one seriously. This is the definition of scraping the bottom of the barrel for justification. I mean seriously, what else you got? Games on the B1G network? Here's a hint, worthwhile games don't go on Peacock. That's not a selling point for your boy.

Multiple 5 star commits - Um, that would be 1 signed commit. And he's already gone. Again, you're actually trying to use this as some kind of selling point? A blue blood with only ONE 5 star commits in 4 recruiting classes? And let us not forget our barely top 100 class this year.

You wanna call other people a bunch of women? Look in the mirror. Because your "logic" on the results from our top 15 paid coach is about as womanly as it gets.
I mean your nane does have "woman" in it.

Danny Odom would like a word with you and he's in this years "barely top 100" class.

As for peacock ( NBC), do you think you put a bunch of crap games on your subscription based program, if you're trying to promote and sell your product?

The Pat McAfee Show is quite arguably the biggest sports talk show right now.

Meh that's like saying I got the car out of the fire but then crashed it into a tree. SF was so bad 90 percent of the HC options could replicate backwards hat Mike's 16-16 record. We won 1 game after Maryland and this is our likely easiest schedule for the foreseeable future.

At this point freaking row the boat PJ & BB can get us more wins.

TBF they were overpaying people crazy money. I don't think we have crazy money.

That could be it. I dont think they were paying anymore than the likes of OSU and others. But the fact is kids will come for the money regardless if you're a championship team or not.

My biggest fear is that they won’t be able to land big name talent even if they have the funds. Matt would be easy to recruit against. 1 good season in 9 years. And it’s not just some Husker fans saying this. It’s a lot of people and coaches are going to use Matt’s in ability to win against him.

I worry we will over pay for G5 talent to make it took look more impressive. Like it’s what we wanted.

Like it or not Matt’s in a hole and he’s gotta claw his way out of it. Not with Zip lines and podcasts but on the field. The Pete Carroll bit only works if you win too.
I kinda don't even care if we get any big name talent. This program doesn't need anyone coming here solely for the money, facilities and how we treat our players like royal nobility. This team has some major coaching issues. Obviously we are not as physical or as disciplined as most and our blocking and tackling sucks. This team needs to find some *** kickers and yes, a couple of them need to be very large human beings.

How many portal adds by position?
QB's: 2
RB's: 1
OL: 3
WR: 1
DL: 3
LB: 1
DB: 2

Do we have 10+ spots?
Good list. Assuming that we don't lose any top guys, If there's any position that we shouldn't go overboard on it's WR or DB. We already have too many of them and when you're getting your *** kicked at the line of scrimmage, it doesn't matter how good those backup WRs, DBs standing next to the water cooler are.

Their defense is legit. And the talent level on that side held up. Offense laid an egg.

Finally appears both lines are being prioritized with the targeted visitors. While this was the OBVIOUS hope, the staff's adoration for WR and DB made it questionable.

Need to seal the deal with these guys! Only way to fix this mess is inside out.
