ad free...is that = to premium?

do I need to upgrade to "ad free" to be able to post? ie is that = "premium." says I have insufficient privileges. thx

Free account - post on free boards
Subscription - post on subscriber boards
Ad-Free Subscription - post on subscriber boards and get no ads

I’m trying to upgrade as well, this was a gift for Christmas but On3 doesn’t do gift subscriptions right now? So this year I’m having my gold subscription upgrade paid for as a gift but we cannot figure out how to make that happen? How can I upgrade?
