This team would boat race the 2023 team. Thanks for making us better, Tim and Mark!
Maybe not boat race because the 2023 defense was so good, but this year’s team would win more often than not. Offense matters.

That was not a good team. It was a great defense and special teams with a horrific offense and the easiest schedule you’ll ever see. They lost their last 2 games by a combined score of 61-0 for a reason and that team would have lost yesterday by a similar result.

Wish this team had gotten the 2015 cupcake conference schedule, doesn't mean they'd be have won head to head vs the 2015 team but they'd have probably hosted a playoff game with it this year.

The easiest schedule you'll ever see is a ridiculously dumb comment. Sports Reference has the Iowa schedule rated at #27 as there are around 70 power 5/4 schools the schedule is average or slightly above. Iowa played #1 Michigan, #13 PSU, and #17 Tennessee. Then had these unranked schools ISU, Rutgers, and Wisconsin all at 7-6 and Northwestern at 8-5.

An example of an easy schedule would be North Carolina at #63 in 2023 who played 2 ranked teams at #20 Clemson and #21 North Carolina State. Their non- conference schedule included 5-7 South Carolina, Minnesota, Appalachian State, and Campbell. Add in a 3-9 Pitt and a 3-9 Virginia. Their 2024 schedule was ranked #70 and 2025 is at #71.

that reason was absence of cooper dejean due to injury. yes flawed team that generated wins
aside- brian is lampooned (not unjustifiably) here but if he indeed had succeeded at springing dejean at qb (instead of getting him injured) at the ccg iowa with cdj playing both ways woulda beaten the cheaters...

No. Not even close. It was perhaps the worst offense in the history of modern football. The reason they got crushed in their last 2 games was because they scored zero points and averaged 160 yards, 9 first downs, and 3 turnovers!! They would have been better off punting the ball on first down on every series. That team had no business winning 10 games.

Give me a break. The teams they played were all bad with the exception of PSU, Michigan, and Tennessee. They were outscored 92-0 in those 3 games!!! Good teams are not outscored 92-0!!

Was North Carolina's schedule easier? Look at Virginia Tech's schedule which was ranked #65, is it easier than Iowa's?

I said nothing about how good or bad Iowa was in 2023. You made a comment that is completely inaccurate and you seem incapable of admitting your error.
