Wow, this is a pretty cool hire for NW. Smart move for Chip too. He goes to a zero pressure job, he will never get media questions again, not sports talk shows cover NW in Chicago. This is a paycheck job with no pressure at all with a head coach that currently is perfect for NW.

I did not see that coming. Really feel like he could have dun better.. much better.
Maybe it is because he has jumped to so many different jobs??? Ha

I kid, sort of, clearly this is Chip wanting to coach and not have to deal with anything else, like media, expectations, annoying fans, crap like that.

..he left ND because he couldn't get the elite level athlete into the school, jumping to arguably the most demanding job in CFB, but he did it so he could legit compete for a title. Guess he lost all that drive and ambition in a very short period of time. He's way over qualified, and this isn't going to end well IMO.

He was at ND?

I agree that it won't end well but he has no pressure at NW so no one will even really know when it does end.

Pressure is a privilege. Some people prefer the challenge over the paycheck.

Then I guess those people would "work" for free.

How about that for pressure, working for free and trying to provide for yourself and your family, paying all your bills, getting food on the table, keeping a roof over your head...all without any income.

B1G school, Brand new stadium, low pressure, opportunity to shine... Considering ALL of the coaching vacancies this is a Smart move on his and NW part...

****So Help me... if he Pulls a Cignetti at NW I'm gonna seriously lose my noodles... LOL!

Honest question, because I really don't know - but other than '24 with OSU when is the last time that Chip ran a really good offense? I'm discounting OSU because those fekkers were loaded. It's pretty obvious he doesn't want to be a head coach, he's already won a natty as an OC, I think the NW job makes sense because the money is ridiculous everywhere these days.

Yes, that’s exactly what I meant.

God help the rest of the Big 10 and the rest of the country if Northwestern looks at Indiana and decides they want to be good at football too. Great academic school with the billionaires and other very rich alums to prove it
