31 portal entries so far and the Recruiting Class is nearly gone
Ouch. We see how teams lose players when coach leaves for new job, fired or retires. Attrition happens but with the clones it seems like they are getting hit harder than normal especially with recruiting class and loss of returning starters/impact players. Sad thing it could still get worse depending on what some defensive players decide, others in 2 deeps and even a one guy left on offense their rb Sama hasn’t declared one way or the other yet.

I’m hearing talk of Ames High School football players being offered college credits to suit up for the Clowns next season. Make it happen, Jamie!

As much as I dislike MooU, I don't wish what they are going through to any school. The portal and NIL sucks. I don't begrudge players getting remunerated for profit sharing and pay for NIL but, and this is a big but, a majority of these players NIL is pay for play. Use a name or likeness sign a contract and pay them but in most cases that is not whay is happening.

I am grateful for the character of the young men playing at Iowa. Kirk has a great culture for these young men to develop on the field and in life.

And don't forget; the Big 12 fined them $500,000 for opting out of a bowl game.

Kind of a serious question… will Iowa State even have enough players to field a team next season? Goodness.
They're probably going to get lots of WSU guys and pick up some stragglers from other programs.
The problem will be "meshing" so many new faces.

Most teams are plugging in 2-3 portal guys in the current climate to an existing offense or defense.
ISU will have 8-9 new guys on each unit.
That's a disaster by any measure.

Clearly, Mr. Rodgers did not win over many of the guys in the locker room (otherwise there wouldn't be so many transfers since it was announced he'd be the next coach).

Now let's see if Jamie secretly helps the new head coach buy a contender-worthy roster in the offseason.

That has to happen, otherwise there is no reason most any team on their schedule, including us, should fear them next year.

They've gotten 3/4 commitments from some low 3* guys in the last few days.

Imagine Clone fans are calling them "diamonds in the rough"!

Yeah, the portal is packed, so there will be plenty of guys available. Meshing will be key. New HC Rogers needs to get as many of his guys from WSU and SDSU as he can to provide some stability.

I get what, you are saying. But being around some many dbag isu and husker fans over the years who have taken pleasure in Iowa misfortunes I don’t apply it to them. I’m enjoying watching their program burn like a dumpster fire.

Think 2-3 are some of the few wazzu decomits. But they haven’t had mass exodus like isu has had for recruits. One from SD so no surprise there. Problem is isu losing so many returning starters whatever jimmy manages to bring from Pullman don’t think it makes up for what is departing

Next season will be a unmitigated disaster.
And Pollard will have to keep his new HC for at least 4-5 years to save face, so there won't be any pressure to win quickly.

Edit: Big news out of Ames, they got a commitment from a long snapper from Minot State!

Had a clone fan drinking the kool aid on Mr Rodger cause of pollard’s track record and hiring Campbell. I told him does he remember his previous 2 hires chizik and Paul Rhoads? How pollard gave Rhoads massive contract after he upset OSU and then spiraled downward right after. Also said pollard got to see ISU play Toledo back to back years (and lose 1) plus with Rhoads being lame duck he got one of the first choices of coaches. This time around he got to pick on the tail end of the coaching cycle.

So many of these posts to respond to, isu down is enjoyable. Good thing Iowa gets them early. Their team jerseys will definitely need names so the coaches will know who the hell they are.

As much as I would love to see ISU go 0-12 next year and return to their norm, that is not a guaranteed outcome. Less than 50% of players that enter the portal find a new team. ISU will be able to pick up players at every position, albeit not marquee players. They were going to have to start from scratch anyway with a new coaching staff and new schemes on offense and defense. Washington survived losing their coaching staff and every starter on offense in 24 in a much tougher conference.

Washington football >>> ISU football.

No doubt many of the players in the portal will end up staying...the ones not good enough to find a place that wants them. The clowns may not go 0-12, but they're in the tank for a couple of years at least. It will be tough not to OD on Schadenfreude next Fall.

And based on history, KF will find a way to lose to whichever captain they have in charge of their Titanic.
Sadly, this is true.

That's been what has pissed off so many Hawk fans over the years.

You see all these Iowa players in the NFL and wonder how come KF hasn't won more?

Kirk is too classy (& too old) to bail for bigger $$ & raid our team of all decent players. He’ll either line up a coach-in-waiting or our high-class AD will pull in a great hire that wants a P2 upgrade.

I guarantee that whenever we get a new coach, it won’t be a complete train wreck like at MooU.
Kirk’s replacement already is on staff and liked by the players. To the bank. Take it.
