And is Hecklinski going with him?
I hope not
Hecklinski is in line to be the starting QB at a School that is better and in a better Conference , Unless they are going to pay Him big and promise the starting job I would be asking Myself a huge why if He did

Agree.
And, he's learning an NFL offense here.
They don't do a slow mesh in the League

If Becht goes to Penn St maybe it will be Grunkemeyer that goes to Virginia Tech.

LOL at some of you saying it’s a better idea for a quarterback to stay with us at Iowa.

On the other hand, staying at Iowa was the only reason Deacon and Spencer played big boy football 🤷🏼‍♂️ So I suppose it would benefit him if he has lower-level expectations.

no issues if he goes but if he takes qb1 particularly late (charlie jones type timing) it would be incredibly indecent though in line with the spirit of our times

It just wouldn’t be a smart move for Hecklinski. He’s in pole position for the Iowa job. He’d likely have to work his way back up in Franklin’s eyes as he has no tape to fall back on.

I had heard the rumor from a decent source before it was discussed on a podcast but when a OC was hired at Va. Tech I thought he wasn't going there. Not sure what happens now. Maybe a QB coaching position. I asked the question because he is very knowledgeable and should be more than an analyst.

Will Hecklinski stay or will he go? Hope he stays but these days you never know.

There's a chance Iowa football can survive, maybe even prosper, without Warren, Woods, and whoever else ends up leaving, coach or player. Baseball survived the demise of Babe Ruth. I hear football is doing okay without Tom Brady. And basketball has continued despite the departure of Michael Jordan. Hell, even golf continues without Tiger Woods. So there is some precedent . . .

Not sure why Hecklinski is being doubted, he has a 50/50 shot of becoming a starter. Going to VT would likely decrease his chance of being a starter.
