Exactly.bunch of nobodies living vicariosly through great wrestlers.Ok ladies relax. Rutgers is currently in the final 2 for the second biggest recruit in school history that should be the focus
Stillwater OK may be one of the worst college towns in the U.S. It’s like putting a state university in Hackettstown. Plus, Can’t fly direct and not close to airports. DT is the only good thing about OKST. Tough adjustment unless you are from the Midwest. Surprised Hodgins is headed there. Will be even more surprised if Knox does. Knox should talk to the Mastro bros from Blair about how they enjoyed Tumbleweed Univ.Rutgers and OK St. Sounds like the father is driving the bus on this one.
Rutgers vs a team with unlimited monetary resources. For some reason, I don't like our chances. But if he comes, Merry Christmas and a Happy fv*king New Year excitement just enter the building again. If not, the bridesmaid once again for how many top guys is that now?Rutgers and OK St. Sounds like the father is driving the bus on this one.
Interesting take. I wouldnt think that would be a deal breaker, especially with the trajectory VT recruiting has taken.FWIW Knox dad isn’t fond of the attention the Bassetts get so don’t bank on VT being a threat
Well , it's not like he's not going to have great training partners. I know we're down right now , but we don't have any flea bags on our team. With Anthony's father involved in his career.I can't see him going to oklahoma state or even virginia tech. I think he thrives better with his father in his corner. As much as I'm not a giant fan of Goody he will make sure that anthony gets what he deservesRutgers vs a team with unlimited monetary resources. For some reason, I don't like our chances. Knox was a top 3 p4p lightweight recruit just like Suriano so I def understand the hype..I’d bet good money that Knox will end his college career with 4 AAs and at least 1 national title.
Not saying he’ll be Suriano, but Knox is better than Howard ever was at the high school level. Robert was a great athlete that won matches engaging in high level scrambles, Knox is stronger and much more technically sound. Knox style translates much better to college.Knox was a top 3 p4p lightweight recruit just like Suriano so I def understand the hype..
Looked into his grey shirt year and he pinned/TF everyone he faced but they were all nobodies.. his only NQ+ lvl guy he faced, I believe, was Bouzakis, who he lost to. So idk what to take away from this. Or how he would stack against the elite 125er.
He has the high school pedigree to end up like Suriano but he could also end up being like Robbie Howard, who was also a top 3 p4p lightweight recruit. Some say if Howard didn’t get inj good chance he becomes AA or by his own words multiple time national champion but I highly doubt that. His only healthy year he only made R16. And when he was “healthy” the writing was pretty much on the wall that he got replaced.
nonsense on both partsKnox was a top 3 p4p lightweight recruit just like Suriano so I def understand the hype..

Knox was/is 10x the recruit Howard was. Knox lost one match in high school which I believe was a beast of the east final as a freshmen. I think he was AA caliber by the time he was a junior in high school. He’s much closer to Suriano than he is to Howard.Knox was a top 3 p4p lightweight recruit just like Suriano so I def understand the hype..

No one in NJ ever got close to Knox, Robert Howard’s signature match in NJ is the scramble he had with Dante Minnino who couldn’t crack the starting lineup at Drexel.Knox was/is 10x the recruit Howard was. Correct, but we seen high level recruits not pan out for w.e reasons that had all the accolades under the sun and beaten future d1 wrestlers in hs but some reason fail once college hits.. Aragona is an example… for this reason i wanna see how a recruit does against college lvl NQ+ lvl guys before we just crown them future AA/Champs+..Knox was/is 10x the recruit Howard was. The state finals when Howard was a 14 yr old freshman, you are knocking him for losing an OT match in the state finals as a freshman ? He also beat Alvarez, Ventresca, Composto , Oliveri, Coliaocco, Mastro, Crookham . not to mention all the guys he beat to make 3 world teams. No one in NJ ever got close to Knox, Robert Howard’s signature match in NJ is the scramble he had with Dante Minnino who couldn’t crack the starting lineup at Drexel.
Do you ever run out of bad takes ? Amos has made a senior world team, Won a junior world team gold medal , and a bronze jr medal since getting to college ..Wisconsin forced Amos to make 197 to accommodate Trent Hilger and he suffered 2 devastating shoulder injuries. Now he’s finally healthy and at heavyweight and lost to Bastida by 1 and has a legit shot at being national champ this seasonCorrect, but we seen high level recruits not pan out for w.e reasons that had all the accolades under the sun and beaten future d1 wrestlers in hs but some reason fail once college hits.. Amos is another example that was #1 recruit that did everything under sun in hs and has underperformed so far only being a NQ. So u never know 100%. That said, I do believe in Knox and hope we land him
He wrestled minnino in the semifinals of states his sophomore year and he won. I’m not really trying to get into a Howard vs Knox debate, but if you’re gonna argue with me at least be somewhat familiar with your guys career. The state finals when Howard was a 14 yr old freshman, you are knocking him for losing an OT match in the state finals as a freshman ? Guess u never heard of David Craig either who was the #1 ranked class recruit? U a moron or something? I guess u never seen a top prospect not fulfill their potential bc guess what moron it happens sometimes. And news flash guy we had plenty of top 10 p4p recruits over the years that wrestled here that didn’t become AA for w.e reasons. So that’s why I take the cautious approach of wanting to see how they look against NQ+ lvl guys first.Do you ever run out of bad takes ? The 2 guys you re hating on both didn’t fulfill their potential because of serious injury. Robbie made 3 world teams in high school, can you name another Nj wrestler to make 3 world teams in high school? He was as blue chip of a prospect as you can get and thats even with being out most of his senior yr.Guess u never heard of David Craig either who was the #1 ranked class recruit? I was just giving examples of guys that were top recruits that didn’t go on to AA for w.e reason. Kind of comical you don’t understand that concept. You also seem to think freestyle results translates to folkstyle 1:1… Yes there are many other examples of healthy top 10p4p recruits that don’t go on to AA.The 2 guys you re hating on both didn’t fulfill their potential because of serious injury. As for Amos he’s going to AA and might win a title this year and while his folk seasons have been ended by injuries mostly he made a senior US world team in college and won a jr world gold thats pretty elite stuff
you act like these are Aragona type situations and it’s completely different
Nothing in sports is ever 100% but Knox as a prospect is basically as close to it as you can get. As far as wrestling goes he’s smart, disciplined, strong, technical, and completely well rounded. He’s got a good motor and a good gas tank, he’s got the accolades, and when he was in 8th grade people were speculating that he’d be the 3rd 4x undefeated champ in NJ history so it’s not like he’s popping up out of nowhere.Correct, but we seen high level recruits not pan out for w.e reasons that had all the accolades under the sun and beaten future d1 wrestlers in hs but some reason fail once college hits.. Bill, I think at this point if it is going to be that we have to cow toow down to this kid, I would say, just let him go to another school. He is a very good wrestler, but next year there will be some other crop of kids, just as good, that will see Rutgers as a great spot for them to thrive.I hate this whole bidding war on some kid who just came out of high school, that may end up being an academic and character issue.Im personally not as hyped on him as everyone else.In fact let VaTech have him, as I dont see the upside with this kid as everyone else does.Doesnt seem to have the mindset or academics to fit in here.VaTech has definitely lowered its academic standards the last couple of years and is letting anyone in from Jersey that will pay the out of state tuition costs. We are trying very hard.
Knox is as good a prospect as anyone in the country. And Between his Dad’s club, Cut-Pro business, etc. the Family is dialed into the wrestling scene and could help RU recruit more NJ kids. His performances at Who’s #1 convinced me as the state titles are nice but matching up against the best on a nationalBill, I think at this point if it is going to be that we have to cow toow down to this kid, I would say, just let him go to another school. Have you seen some of the athletic programs Rutgers has? Zinn's got bigger fish to worry about and fry before she ever gets to wrestling. As long as Goodale beats up on the small fries in the B1G/Out of Conference and doesn't embarrass himself at Nationals he'll be completely off her radar.Lot of speculation here about Goody's future
Assuming we get Knox and he wins a natty early (frosh year), but the team continues to flounder, does that impact Zinn's handling of Scott?
Meaning she'll give him until he graduates for fear of him transferring?
This is a good point. Knox essentially built and ran the Vianney team that has really taken a step back since he and his buddies graduated.Knox is as good a prospect as anyone in the country. Level is the true test. He beat DeLuca from Blair/Iowa. Has also beaten Bassett.
This is really rich coming from you and your lack of class and integrity ...surprised you haven't made up some bogus story about this kid and his family ..as far as wrestling goes this kid checks all the boxes and has the record to prove it ...stay in your brown bag let the people who make these decisions do their job without your low rent biased opinion which nobody cares about ...Bill, I think at this point if it is going to be that we have to cow toow down to this kid, I would say, just let him go to another school. Bill you obviously know more than us.Im hearing from several sources that he is coming here. That its a done deal.Hope they are right.Crackers
I will help with Knox in any way I can if that is what the coaches want. I have already set up mentoring for him in the business world outside wrestling which I think Knox should find very important.
Hearing voices in your head again!!!Bill you obviously know more than us.Im hearing from several sources that he is coming here. That its a done deal.Hope they are right.
I hear voices in my headHearing voices in your head again!!!
Why don't you go do some deep knee bends in a cucumber patch.Hearing voices in your head again!!!
We need some top level talent infusion at Rutgers. Last year I wanted Rutgers to have no part of him. My stance has changed. The kid is an elite level talent. Same level as Suriano and Ashnault. Hope to god we get him
