Rhule is going to bet on a guy that went 0-5 in the Big Ten and lost his starting position to a freshman? Pretty bold strategy.
I've been a diehard Nebraska since 1968. My grandfather went to the University of Montana, and I have a neighbor who also went to school at Grizzly U so I kind of watch them. Maybe it is time to focus on the Montana Grizzlies and kind of watch Nebraska. Aidan Chiles? What a loser and Math Rhule is even a bigger loser. Bring in a player who can't even keep his starting job at the school he played for. Rhule is a du*b mother fu+ker.

I'm a hard no on Chiles
This.

So much.

He wasn't even the best QB at MSU last season.

If the criteria is "has experience in the Big 10" might as well check to see
if that Bauserman kid has eligibility left.

Bet he'd be awfully cheap and bring identical results.

Nobody is giving up on Lateef and fully expect him to be our starter, but we need another QB incase of injury and competition always makes you better as well
The bowl game is gonna be a tough go for Lateef as well at the team as two of the biggest weapons on offense (Emmitt and Rocco) are sitting out.
Those two may not be adequately replaced next season either.....

It is what it is, but it gives other players an opportunity that they might not have during the last month.

Excited to see some of the youth on both sides getting a shot.

Be a tall order to win this game and we’d need some help from the Utes.

Exactly what I would expect from Ruhle. Let's throw 5 million at a guy who has worse stats than any other guy we have had here in the last 10 years. Those passing stats are Jammal Lord worthy. "But maybe he can run the ball"....Yes let's just go after the 19th best QB in the portal!

Who's saying we'd be throwing $5M at Chiles?

We’re not throwing 5 million at a QB. Raiola was only getting a million per year. IF anything the kid from MSU would get backup NIL money.

There is a whole thread devoted to that very statement.

5 Million/year.

That’s for the top portal QBs. Chiles wasn’t even mentioned in the article stating the going price for a starting QB was expected to be in the 5 million range. FWIW Raiola was mentioned but I doubt he gets anywhere near that.

That is why his most impressive win in 3 years is a Cincinnati team that finished in the middle of the big 12.

fine if Lateef only has limited snaps.. really don't need him aggravating that hamstring.. I'd probably let the seniors Gramsad and HH play QB as a reward for their service.

Please Baby Jesus let these names being mentioned be either wrong or for a backup QB.

A guy who was benched at a 4-8 Michigan State
A guy who was benched at a 2-10 Boston College
A guy who's been a backup at Notre Dame for 3 years and has 29 total pass attempts...in 3 years

Yeah I'd rather just go down the list of top FCS QBs and offer them, before any of these guys

All three are underwhelming. Certainly no difference makers. If that is what our choices are it is depressing. And if we want to run the ball more you might want to fire your running backs coach since he can’t recruit running backs that are worth a damn. How do you become a run heavy team when you have zero backs on your roster that would start for any other B1G team?

I will be more impressed by signing one of these three QB’s when we also sign some great linemen and a stud running back. We are probably trying to do just that. But I will remain deeply pessimistic about next year until we do.
I'm all with you on this, get those great offensive linemen first then we can talk about QB's. This years Heisman was a two star out of high school and he transferred to a school that was built around a solid OL. You don't need a 4 or 5 star QB to win it all but you better have the guys up front to do the dirty work on both sides of the ball, Nebraska seems to have forgotten this fact along the way.

Indiana was NOT EVER built around a solid OL. They got lucky with a GREAT coach and really good skill players that the coach brought in. If Indiana keeps winning after this year, then I will eat crow. But, I think Indiana is done after this season.

Ohio State and Bama have done pretty well recruiting top high school QBs or getting transfers who were top high school prospects. They have a much higher hit rate than even 3 star guys, but it’s not a guarantee. Even if you’re recruiting high end high school QBs you need a little luck in getting the right guy.

Indiana landed what I think was the top portal QB in Mendoza last year. Indiana is going to be interesting to watch. I think Cignetti has built enough cred and with Cuban’s money I suspect he’ll maintain some level of winning.

This would be a good get for the Huskers. Minchey almost won the job at Notre Dame and by all accounts has looked good. He's a pocket passer who can run. But not a runner, like LaTeef in that regard. It's good to have similar players in the QB room so that the offense can be designed around their strengths.

Whoever we get I don't care how many ******* stars they had out of high school. Ole Miss just beat Georgia with a QB transfer from Ferris State. That New Mexico transfer playing for Utah looked like the next Michael Vick. It's got to be the right fit. The era of worrying about public perception needs to end.
