From NCHSAA...

5. TRANSFER POLICY: After initial entry into the ninth grade, and absent a bona fide move
as provided in the Residence section in this Handbook:
(a)a student transferring from one member school to another member school within the same
LEA must sit out 365 days for athletic participation. The LEA may create criteria for immediate
athletic eligibility for transfers within the LEA.

(b)A student transferring from one member school in one LEA to another member school in a
different LEA must sit out 365 days for athletic participation. Exceptions for immediate athletic
eligibility for transfers from one LEA to a different LEA will be heard by a special NCHSAA transfer
committee.

NOTE: If a member school is not part of a defined LEA (e.g., charter school, non-boarding
parochial school, etc.), then the member school itself will be considered its own LEA for purposes
of this policy (i.e., exceptions involving these member schools will fall under subsection (b) above).

If I am reading this correctly. We have a State Rule of 365 unless the county says otherwise. Nice and clear.
Nchsaa isn't a state organization. They leave it up to counties to enforce county policies.

Can a kid transfer from my hickory or Newton to maiden without a move? Or the other way? Since different school system.
Not that I know of they work together on that policy. Believe me Newton definitely enforces it on their kids trying to leave 🤣

Up to each school board. The State probably doesnt want to implement something statewide and get sued.
I like what SC did. Give everyone 1 free transfer and after that a 365 rule. It gives kids options without playing for 4 teams in 4 years.
or kids playing for three schools in 3 years 🤣🤣. Sorry I had to do that after you posted this 🤣

Another point of how uniformed policies are. Private schools and charter schools have a totally different set of rules as far as transfers School ranges for students. At one point I did a mileage radius for Lincoln charter and they could take students in from Shelby to the South Carolina border just north of hickory. And then private or Christian schools can actually reclassify students to different grades so a 10th grader can become a 9th grader and get an extra year availability

So they can play another year in private than public?

Christ School has gotten several top players over the years from WNC by allowing them to reclassify. I remember the Qb from Asheville played his Jr year for the Cougars. Transferred to Christ School. Got reclassified as a Jr again. Played 2 more years. And signed with UNC I believe.

Correct, Braylon Clark (look him up) at Charlotte Country Day played middle school ball with a lot of the Cramer kids and then after 8th grade went to CCD and did 8th grade again.

AC Reynolds has grouped together a reclassified group of players that will make make a good squad over the next few years. It will be an exceptional group of baseball players that should go deep. Concerted effort by their community.

I just appreciate you letting us be a part of the Foothills group. Not much talk on these boards from many schools in Gaston County.
LOL we will come all but you also may take a little bit of a beating from us every now and then but usually it's all in fun usually 🤣🤣

@Stormsurge1
Bandys likes to row the boat, who knows where to. This is one of the many rivals of @amaidendevil . Maybe one of their few valuable pieces is looking across Lake Norman for a new team next year.

"Captain, the coordinates you've given me come back as in the middle of a lake near Charlotte. That can't be correct."
"You've got your orders damn you, now fire those missiles!"
Kudos on being funny šŸ˜‚ but in all honesty I wouldn't sink his boat because his location won't affect us 🤣 only go after the enemies

You guys are a lot of fun and I enjoy reading all of your posts. I will keep you guys informed of any definite kids coming Cramer. There are a few rumors circulating around. We are definitely in need of a QB.

Their 9th grade QB showed some glimpses, but I definitely don’t think they are on the rise. Lots of rumors about kids taking their talents elsewhere. On a side note that 9th grade QB lives in Cramers districtšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Yep. I thought I heard he lived in your district. From what I was told he was looking for best option but who knows. Things change fast nowadays
