That win last week really sucked. They are in position 7 now, they would be in pick 2, just barely out of the first pick by SOS, if they lost that game.
The good news is if they lose out the teams ahead of them play enough games against each other they would likely get to 4 and possibly 3. It would take a miracle to get back to pick 1 or 2 though.
Good day for the tank, Jets move up to #5.

-Giants beat Raiders
-Raiders beat the Chiefs
-Browns beat the Bengals

Depends on who's holding the #1. If it's the Giants or Titans who have their QB, then maybe. If it's anybody else, then I doubt the pick is for sale.

Trevor Lawrence could have been Jets qb instead of Zach Wilson had they lost 1 more game several years ago.

If Pickett is QB the rest of the year you are probably right. However, Smith is supposedly day to day, and with Smith at QB I think they can beat the Chiefs in the last game of the year at LV.
The Colts pick is 18 now and they have three games left against good teams with a lot to play for (SF, Jax, Hou).
That pick could end up around 12 or 13, which would be awesome.
I don’t like the NBA’s lottery system because it gives the worst team too little of a chance to win (only 14%) and because they have three lottery picks the worst team has a better chance of dropping to 4 while a good team can win the lottery.
Imagine the Chiefs winning the lottery this year because they just missed the playoffs for the first time in forever?
The NHL does it better. Only two picks so the worst team can only fall to 3, and teams can only move up a max of 10 spots (so the teams in spots 2-11 can move up to 1, but the best teams to miss the playoffs at spot 12-16 only move up to 2-6 if they win)
I agree that the Jets situation depends on which team has the number 1 pick. If the Giants or Titans have the top pick and the Jets are sold on Mendoza, they have the draft capital to get there. Otherwise, it makes sense to hold on to the many picks. The 2027 draft could be much better regarding QBs and other positions according to many draft analysts. I’m not sure what the Jets would do for the 2026 QB position however.

Aaron Glenn announced on Monday morning that the Jets have fired defensive coordinator Steve Wilks.
What will cheapest tix cost for 12/28 Jets-Patriots game? Can fans move down to empty seats closer to field?
Might buy 3 for stocking stuffers. Would be Xmas eve decision based on tix px and weather forecast.
Several Monday's ago I get a text from my 17 year old with video of him running out of tunnel onto the MetLife field. I asked what are you doing there, you are supposed to be in school and you don,t follow football. Turns out the Jets host groups of high school kids to teach them about the sports biz and show them around stadium including locker room and lux boxes. After the event, the Jets honchos were giving away free tix to whatever games the kids wanted and my kid chose Jets-Patriots.

Cheapest on StubHub is $70, in the upper reaches of the upper tier. You can move to a lower row within the tier with no problem. Whether you can move to a lower tier is uncertain.
Could tix be cheaper on 12/24? If I bought end zone tix, could we move to empty seats at the 50? That's usually how I roll at SHI stadium.
Since the NFL started recording interceptions in 1933, no team ever has finished a season without an interception. The Jets would be the first if they do not get an interception today at Buffalo.

I agree that the owner should sell the team but that is probably not happening. Once they traded their two top defensive players for multiple high draft picks, it was clear they were pulling the plug and would try a complete rebuild. The problem is you don’t get a lot of time in the NFL and Glenn will be under a lot pressure next season to show big improvement. Not sure what they will do about the QB position next season. They will have the #2 pick in the draft. They could try to sign a veteran QB for next season, they have 2 1st rd picks in 2026 and 3 1st rd picks in 2027. Many think the’27 draft will be overall one of the most talented in memory. I assume the Raiders will draft Mendoza 1st. If D. Moore enters the draft, they could draft him with the 2nd pick. I think Moore needs more college seasoning but he is talented. The OL is the one solid unit. They have to rebuild the rest of the team, they will have a lot of cap space for 2026.
Thrilled that my Raiders will get Mendoza. Not that I think he's a can't miss prospect (but I do think he's very good), but I consider Moore and the other QBs as hit or miss at best. Both teams need a tremendous amount of work on the rosters.
How in the world does an NFL team go a whole season without even one interception ? It seems impossible.
