As for Washington, they are gonna be loaded next year and to me becomes our #2 toughest game out there next year behind only OSU and ahead of Michigan at ann arbor

I was thinking of going to Seattle for that game but not if we are big underdogs.
There's also a difference between the P2 & the Leftover2. This will continue to get worse as the NIL/profit sharing gap grows & players/coaches are promoted to the big leagues. Maybe ISMoo & the other rejects can move to FCS?

I believe with NIL the disparity will increase as several top G5 players transfer to P5 schools. But the disparity has always been there. I found this, between 2010 and 2020 the power 5 won 60.8% of the bowl games. And of course in these games you are not playing the top teams in the power 5 conferences. I believe when the Big was in the Holiday Bowl it was the Big #3 team against the WAC champion. Iowa was 2-0-1 in that bowl against WAC teams.
The overall records were worse as the Big won 84.7% against G5 from 2014-2020. Some of this disparity is likely do to Big teams being the home team in the vast majority of these games.

Call me crazy but I don't think NIL is to blame for any of this so called disparity. Other than Indiana's meteoric rise, what has changed? The top teams are still the same, smaller conferences occasionally beat the big boys, and players are now paid both above and below the table. The biggest issue with traditional football is the wild west of the transfer portal.
I think the instances of the smaller conferences beating the big boys is going to greatly diminish, especially in the CFP. The rest of the bowls will be a wild card with all the opting out that goes on now.
For me, I’ll be greatly disappointed if Iowa doesn’t win 80% of the football CyHawk games going forward.
They are Very important... Ask ANY coach! It is like an extra spring practice season. The guys who have the best chance to be starters, and those in close competition, will get a lot of #1 snaps in the spring.
Side note - the rumor has it that Hank Brown has looked Very Good so far in these extra practices. Love that! A competitive race to be QB1 next season, and having multiple years in Lester's system, is incredibly beneficial vs a one-and-done...

been practing since July but if they don’t practice in December they forget everything.
I assume we are all betting the under on Washington next year. They are screwed.
The band directors say they are much better in 2026 with the extra practices.
