JH getting beat a couple of times on cuts
Hayes does not appear to have great hands
Chit Chat is the steal of the year. She is a very good player in all phases
McCabe really providing consistency on defense, rebounding and offense
JMO
defense has been a mixed bag...like you said we had some cuts that burnt us but we did do some good switches when 1 player was beat also.

nice bounce back game. Wish Hannah could play like that P4 teams.
Yes it was. Was just going to say Hannah had a heck of a game and wished she'd done that the other night. Ava was great, Houston was very good. Levin needs to play more imo, very good interior passer.

Where have all the Hannah bitchers gone??

Really? Tell you what, lets pick this up after next Saturdays game. If she plays that effectively against UConn, the we'll have something to talk about. Truly, I hope she does. I'd eat some crow willingly....

Ok. We can watch the rest of the season, too. Stuelke and Heiden are a great one/two punch.
Book it.

Not sure what to think about this but I really felt Ava played a lot more cautious defensively after she went out with her first foul early. That’s good in that we need her on the floor offensively but not sure what that will do to our interIor defense if that’s the new Ava.

No you won’t. And we’re not beating UConn. Nobody is the whole season. They might lose 1 game.

Yes, I would. I'd love nothing more then to see Hannah drop 30 on UConn. Honestly though, do you all not think it was a calculated move by Jan to leave Stuelke on the floor almost the entire 2nd half up by 30+ points and playing with the 2nd AND third team? Great for confidence, no doubt, but do we really take much from that 2nd half today against Lindenwood?

I think Jan pulled her after the first foul to remind her that its the silly reach in fouls that are getting her in trouble....

Well UConn is going to go 35-0 this year so we might as well start bitching about Hannah now. It will clearly be her fault when we lose that game by 25.
Yes, cannot people see that some teams are just better than others and will likely win head to head. It’s not always one player or the officials, or the coaching mistakes that cost the game. That said I’ll be very happy if Iowa wins vs. UConn, if not , to bad and drive on!

Thats simply not true, but if your "senior leader" shoots 20-30 some % from the floor, (all right under the basket), and under 50% from the free throw line AGAIN in a big game, should it just be ignored, or will it be a topic of conversation?

I actually thought HS played with a fire tonight and I saw her toss a defender aside after loose ball. Perhaps the senior leader talk happened after ISU, I’ll never know but I was proud of her effort today!

This is a strawman argument you guys are making. Overall did Hannah play well in the biggest game so far this year? No. Does she still struggle from the free throw line. Yes. Did anyone say its all her fault, we lost, No. Does anyone here think were going to win next Saturday, probably not.

Yes. Yes, against Lindenwood. But thats what we need, against ISU, UConn, OSU, Maryland, etcc..Thats what you expect from a senior leader, and three year starter. Thats the point. And you didn't answer my question in the post you responded to. Why do you think she was still in the game the last 2 or 3 minutes with the 2nd and 3rd team? She's a starter for goodness sake.

Dominating performance, some thoughts on the team at this point in the season.

McCabe - if she can continue to make 3s at the rate she has been she will help a lot in winning games. Still shakey on occasion with ball handling.

Feuerbach- important for defense, offense has been picking up and capable in ball handling.

Chit Chat- great ball handling, passing, shooting, driving and shooting and disruptive on the ball on defense. Has been excellent.

Stremlow - really improved since year one. Ball handling went from shakey to capable. Passing is good, defense is good, rebounds. Shooting is very consistent now.

Deal- her play reminds me of where Stremlow was last year except Stremlow had more hustle plays. I'm sure Addie will hit her stride eventually but it might not be this season. She looks a step slow out there, her dribbling and ball handling is shaky at times, not handling the ball cleanly quite a bit. Her footwork and quickness need improvement as well.

Ava, great post moves and touch around the basket. A nice shooting touch out to 15 feet. Great rebounding. Very athletic big. Just needs to avoid silly fouls.

Stuelke- can be hot or cold shooting. Great hustle, strong rebounding and good defender. Just not overly effective past 5 feet unless she drives.

Houston- Well rounded, great hands, great nose for rebounding. Always in the right place at the right time. She and Hays have been the two best freshman.

Hays- some very nice post moves at time, passing is decent. Has had some nice scoring games. Needs to get stronger and work on her hands a little, her agility and explosivness and foot quickness but has been better than I expected.

Levin- great hustle, good ball handling, feisty on defense. Had earned her increased minutes.

Teagan- unlucky with some missed time but played well today. If she can dial in her shooting I feel she can be important given her size.

I’m very aware of whom we played today, we didn’t play the teams you mentioned so that doesn’t matter today. I also thought she didn’t play well against ISU hence the possible senior leader talk. Yes , she played longer than expected, perhaps Jan wanted her to get 30 points. I do know that Houston was at scorers table to check in for HS, but she missed 2nd FT and played another minute.
